Paramore are more known for bursting on to the music scene with 'RIOT!' their sophomore album. All We Know Is Falling is persistently overlooked by newer fans. But what 'RIOT!' is lacking, 'AWKIF' has plenty!
Released in 2005, the album was something a lot of teenagers were looking for. Not quite pop and hardly reaching death metal, AWKIF falls closer to pop/rock. Paramore being teenagers themselves when they wrote and recorded this album so what you wouldn't expect is the striking lyrics that Hayley (lead vocals/keyboard) and Josh (lead guitar/backing vocals) co-wrote. A lot of people would think this album was verging on emotional rock. Yes it is emotional, but it doesn't get to the point that Paramore are whinging about life. The album, written about Jeremy (bass) leaving the band shows great enthusiasm coming from Paramore. A great and promising start that would later lead to 'RIOT!'
All We Know - 7/10, this was the song primarily written about the loss of Jeremy. It's a good song overall, but it verges on being needy and clingy. It's not their best written song.
Pressure - 7/10, released as a single, I don't really see how this one gained their popularity, it lacks real vocal strength and the lyrics are a bit clichéd.
Emergency - 10/10, one of the best songs on the album. It's written about divorce and is incredibly powerful for something written by a 15 year old.
Brighter - 9/10, at first this song reminded me of a relationship break- up, I later found out it's about a loss of a friend and now every time I listen to it, it brings out huge emotions.
Here We Go Again - 7/10, annoying, yet good to dance to. I particularly like the extra endings to this song that Paramore add while playing it live.
Let This Go - 9/10, I really like this song. Perhaps it is another clingy and needy song, but it's clever and cute.
Whoa - 8/10, written for their fans, this song played live really gets the crowd going. It's a really good call and response song when played to a live audience and it's great to 'rawk owt' to in your bedroom.
Conspiracy - 8/10, the first song they ever wrote. Contradicting first verse but an all round good song. Check out the intro to it that they played at Anaheim a few years ago.
Franklin - 10/10, written about their home town. It's really quite another emotional one. Josh's soft backing vocals 'can you remind me of a time..?' leave you begging for more of him.
My Heart 10/10!!!, this song is epic live and on the album. Hayley's voice when this is played live is spectacular. On the album you can still feel her vocal talents but they aren't as raw as they are when used live. This is by far the best song on the album and probably the best song ever written by Paramore. It relates to so many things and is yet another emotional one. Josh's screaming really adds to the raw aspect of the song and is another thing that is so great about the live version
Final verdict: It seems like Paramore let all their feelings out on this album and forgot about 'RIOT!' entirely.

Advantages: Great Band, Landmark Album for Paramore, Great Value with 11 top Paramore tracks Disadvantages: Probably slightly better value from the MVI version of Riot in my opinion
