All in all it's a good CD for the Sinatra fans and anyone who likes to hear the crooner style. The price of £3.99p is fantastic, the insert is rubbish with no detail, run time about 45 mins.
I was in a garden centre last week and the cheapo music rack caught my eye, I often walk past it and glance at the titles but today I wanted a bit of music to pass the time in the traffic jams on the way home.
Earlier on I had been having a discussion with someone about Sinatra, horses heads and a certain organisation known as the family.

No? Well then there must be some other reason for his popularity, one of them is he, and only he, can sing certain songs, that is the reason I bought this CD (Apart from the price)
Now for the CD, this had been recorded live and some of the performance is a little under par but still of higher quality than a lot of live recordings I have heard from other artists.
Track 1, this is the classic 'Come fly with me' sung as only Sinatra can sing it.
Track 2, 'Begin the beguine' great song but not the best version by a mile.
Track 3, 'Dancing in the dark' er a miss I'm afraid
Track 4, 'You make me feel so young' I sing along to this one everytime I hear it.
Track 5, 'Love me or leave me' Bye Bye Frank
Track 6, 'On the sunny side of the street' Bright and breezy easy listening type song.
Track 7, 'Blue Skies' Now we are getting in the swing of things
Track 8, 'All the way' Another classic from the man
Track 9, 'Ghost of a chance' not with this one Frank
Track 10, 'Night and day' Passable version
Track 11, 'Somebody loves me' OK but not the best track
Track 12, 'Just one of those things' back to the real standards with this one.
Track 13, 'you are love' play it in the background!
Track 14, 'They didn't believe me' Another timeless favourite
Track 15, 'Out of nowhere' em put it back Frank
Track 16, 'I've got my love to keep me warm' Another great singalong song
Track 17, 'For You' & Track 18, 'Road to Mandalay' would have been better left off.

Advantages: Almost all of his best songs including "It was a very good year" Disadvantages: Candlelight on Cd's not an option
Now I like my music varied, but lyrics are my thing, be it Bacharach and David, Rickie Lee Jones or Simon and Garfunkel. (that doesn't explain why I like YES, but there has to be some mystery in everyone's life).
I also love what could be called "vocal stylists" rather than singers. For example Nick Appollo Forte in Woody Allen's "Broadway Danny Rose", Tony Bennett et al.
My mum and dad brought me up listening to Jim Reeves, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey, which is cruel treatment I'm sure nowadays social services might be interested in. However as I get older, I realise what great performers these people were and top of the heap is Ol blue eyes, FrankSinatra.
I've just bought a double CD "My Way" on Warner and it has all the great man's hits. The one that clinched it for me, and believe me it's worth the price of admission ...
Advantages: It's one of the best albums ever made musically and lyrically Disadvantages: The album clocks off after only 36 minutes
) and he said
?It's from Don Quixote by Cervantes. The book that inspired the musical Man Of La Mancha from which the song The Impossible Dream comes from?
THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM
You are fooled yet again with the last track. It begins with the same gentle piano music that is the intro to ?1993?, but this is THE best song on the album. It isn?t a Carter song lyrically it comes from the stage show ?The Man of La Mancha?. There are many different versions of this song (13 at the last count) from people like Elvis, FrankSinatra and Tom Jones all the way to Placido Domingo and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I?ve heard all 13 versions but not one of them has managed to have an effect on me like this one.
You can really feel the power in the music and singing that starts slow and quiet and sneaks up on you and starts to churn up your thoughts ...
, nothing new.
Track 12 = so if "That's The Way It Is" wasn't going to chart well, then we'll roll on another power ballad. This is where The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face comes in. A cover of the well-known - but strangely unsuccessful - Roberta Flack ballad - this is a very mellow, but sombre love song. Although, the vocals are impressive, and the song something of a classic, I couldn't resist the temptation to howl like a wolf. Perhaps the album was starting to wear a bit thin by this time.
Track 13 - All The Way. A festive intro makes you think of roasting your chestnuts on a fire - and with good reason, because this is a beautifully recorded duet with FrankSinatra, perhaps one of the best duets of Dion's career as the two voices complement each other perfectly. Again, another song criminally ignored, and a personal favourite ...
