Review of Jurassic 5 - Jurassic 5 by
screnner
Advantages: ambient mood
Disadvantages: none
...the self titled album was the 1997 release from hiphop low-profilers, Jurrassic 5.
I absolutely LOVED this album, full of its up-tempo ambient tracks coupled with the break beats and fuck-o-tronics!
i would DEFINETLY reccommend this album to any TRUE hiphop fans (no eminem wannabe's please!) that appreciate tight lyrical skills and diverse productions.
This album is like a journey, exploring many differing avenues of styles and production. My all time favorite tune they rock has to be concrete schoolyard. What a brilliant sound, a real raw london based summer track to put on for a bar-b-q! its a great album and i would thoughrly recommend this for a good chillout album, no jiggy raps here, just real raw pure talent.
1. In the flesh
2. Quality control part II
3. Jayou
4. Lesson 6
5. Concrete schoolyard
6. Setup
7. Action satisfaction

An experience
Review of Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Godspeed You Black Emperor! by
windowsill
Advantages: Overwhelming, sweeping, emotional.
Disadvantages: Requires attention. Well worth it.
...Buy this. Buy it now.
And find a room with a cd player where you'll be uninterupted, turn of the lights, put it on that little bit louder than you should, and close your eyes.
Not for the conventional market. This music *requires* time to be set aside for you to listen to it. It's inspiring.
Up to 11 people coming together to play flowing, organic, apocalyptic music. At times you can hear 2 drum kits, violins, cellos, guitars, basses, recorded vocals and subtle effects all overpowering you in a semi improvised whirlwind of beautiful sound. It really is an experience. Makes you proud to be a human...
Their music can be very heavy on the heart, but very strong. Definately something that everyone should hear. It's simply beautiful. I saw them live and in between a very open discussion of Bush Jr with the audience, the band repeatedly...

worth every penny!
Review of Live In Hyde Park - Red Hot Chili Peppers by
gaz1990
Advantages: packed full of there best songs with some new ones brand new ones
Disadvantages: inro drags for a bit, sometimes you cannot hear the bass very well
...i got this 2 disk album months ago and i still listen to it regularly.
it is packed fulll of their greatest songs from the past, and includeds some brand new songs (newer than that even).
you only find yourself skipping about 1 song on each disk. the improvisation by the band is fantastic. frusciante's solos are the kind of solos and guitar playing that make you want to learn guitar. it is all driven by some awsome drum beats by chad and fleas fantastic bass playing. however sometimes it is hard to hear the bass over the other instruments.
however there are a few flaws in the almost perfect album. the intro really starts to go on a bit the second time you listen to it, i feel love is way to short, and flea's trumpet solo was good at the gig but dosent really sound right on the album.
9/10 easily!...
