Review of Ally McBeal Vol.2 (Heart & Soul/New Songs From Ally McBeal) - Vonda Shepard
Advantages: Original songs by Vonda Disadvantages: Too many covers
...soundtrack from the TV show Ally McBeal. And it has to be said has some better songs on it than its predecessor. They're mainly heart rending songs with beautiful lyrics written by Vonda shepherd the musical star of the show. And some cover versions of mainly older classic songs such as Starry Starry night, Someday we'll be together, To sir with love, Crying and What becomes of the broken hearted. This album is made for fans of the show who have ...

Advantages: 14 Songs last well over an hour Disadvantages: Lacks the theme song I love - check out the first volume for that one...
...songs from the hit show Ally McBeal includes a range of music by Vonda Shepard, the show’s singer. With duets with Stars such as Al Green and Emily Saliers, this album offers a variety of fast, funky, fresh music with some old, slow favourites thrown in for good measure. Being a fan of the TV show I purchased this album so that I could listen to the music as well as watch the show, and I
recommend it to any Ally / Vonda Shepard fan who, like me, ...

Advantages: Great memaories from the show Disadvantages: Doesn't include all the tracks you'd expect
A worthy follow up to the excellent first CD of covers, this CD goes much further. We hear some excellent songs penned by Shepherd herself, including the spine tinglingly good 'Baby Don't You Break My Heart Slow,' a duet with Emily Saliers of the equally excellent Indigo Girls. This CD also features a duet of 'To Sir, With Love' with Al Green. Although the show is immensely popular now, I do not feel that this album was rushed in any way. The songs ...

Advantages: good for fans of the show Disadvantages: might not sound as good to someone who isn't a egular ally viewer
For all "die-hard" ally fans this is an absolute must. Being able to listen to memories wherever you are is the best. Vincent and Baby, don't you break my heart slow have to be the best songs on the album, although they all grow on you as soon as you hear them. It's one of those albums that you look at the track list and think, oh yeah, i know say 6 or 7 of them but you listen to them and the albums finished before you know it and the songs (and ...
