Advantages: Nice concept.Performances Disadvantages: Everyone might not like it
Almost Famous is director Cameron Crowe's(Jery Mcguaire,Vanilla Sky,Elizabethtown) finest film starring Kate Hudson,Billy Crudup and Frances Mcdormand. I watched the extended cut and I must say it didn't appear to be too long at any point(despite its 160 minute duration).The normal duration is 122 minutes.
The film is set in 1973 when an aspiring rock journalist impresses Rolling stones magazine and they contact him to do a story for them on one of the new age rock bands. What is rather amazing is the fact that the writer is merely a teenager(15 years old) who has a hard time getting into one of the local concerts where several bands are playing. I have read and enjoyed lots of other Picoult books before this one and I was excited to start this, expecting to be lost in the story immediately, however it took me a few days to really get into it and I contemplated giving up after a couple of chapters as I didn't get an immediate connection with the story.
There is a lot of talk about Scottish clans and Scots vs. English history, and I found this really boring to read about. Some of it was associated with the story, like Cam's family history and how he ended being chief of police in Wheelock and other family background stories were needed as well to help us realise the way the family had been brought up over the generations, however a lot of it left me glazed over and bored and this was new from a Jodi Picoult book for me.

2) Rust around the top edge of the doors and the bottom edge of the bootlid/estate tailgate is a well known problem and has been acknowledged by MB as a manufacturing defect. The saving grace here is that, if you have a full service history you can take it to a dealer and claim a repair under the bodywork warranty.
