...this is a magical concert when the heavy rock band nirvana through down their electrics and unplugged their amps and just picked up the acoustic instuments and took the worlds breath away with there music. Many people say they didnt play many of there own songs but that is probably because the heavy rock song just could not be played accousticly. This was almost folk music and it looked like they had been doing it forever. They did play Come as you are and polly and a few from their first album and it was a magnificent set and showed a sensitive side to the angry rockers that they didnt get the chance to develope because of tradgedy.... ...MTV Unplugged in New York is a collection of 14 songs performed by the legengary Nirvana on November the 18th 1993. Right from the start we here how enthusiastic the small audience are, then Kurt himself leads us into Nirvana's first ever song, 'About A Girl'taken from the 1989 album Bleech. In all the tracks, the amount of passion is put into Nirvana's perfoming as there always has been. Jesus Doesn't Want Me For A Sunbeam is a beautiful song which is filled with true passion and empathy. Krist Novoselic plays the accordian beautifully on this track while Dave Grohl takes over on bass. I would have bought this cd just for this track alone! By far All Apologies is the most emotional song played. This song always reminds me about Kurt and he displays his musical talents very well here. I would say that every Nirvana fan must have... Advantages: It's The Corrs
Disadvantages: Mutt Lang

...Oh dear what has happened to The Corrs, co-writing and letting the king of bland, Mutt Lange and Shania Twain's husband, produce this new single has really sent them down the wrong road. Compared to the classic songs on "Talk on corners" or the spirited performance on the MTV unplugged album "Breathless" ends up with them sounding like Heart or even latter day Fleetwood Mac not the band who have sold over four million albums in the UK alone. Hopefully the rest of "In blue" their new album which is released on July 17th will be better.... Read review
