The one and only Streisand
Review of Hello Dolly - Original Soundtrack by Tiny236

Advantages: Great Music
Disadvantages: None

...There is only one thing to say about this soundtrack - brilliant. You have the wonderful voice of Barbra Streisand plus of course the one and only Luis Armstrong. When they sing the duet together of "Hello Dolly" what could be greater. The cover of the cd is very colourful with the face of Dolly (in a very large and flowerful hat) and Horace both in the centre of a circle with the words Hello Dolly going around the edge of the circle. Of course you have the voice of a very young Micheal Crawford, but he did manage to sound quite reasonable and hasn't he improved with age. After seeing him in "Phantom of the Opera" who would have thought that the gawky boy in Hello Dolly would end up becoming such a renowned star of screen and stage. We also must not forget the wonderful Walter Matthau who played such a great part in the film... Read review

Review of Protection - Massive Attack by darrenwilliams99

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...this is such a strong album. Not a week track on it. Its heavy rumbling dub makes it great for listening to in a crowd in a bar and in clubs, whilst its vocals and intricacies allow it to take on even stronger characteristics when listened to in private. My personal favourite tune, not just off this album but in a top 10 of the 90's is Eurochild. It's gorgeous, round rumbley smooth bassline covered by a mellow piece of rap. Its even got a cover of light my fire on it. Horace Andy, Tracey thorn, piano and bass. What more could you ask for?... Read review

LOVE SONGS FOR THE DEPRIVED AND DENIED
Review of Blue Lines/Mezzanine - Massive Attack by craiggy_boy

Advantages: Another landmark album from MA, pinpoint production, powerful
Disadvantages: None that can't be put up with

...'t swear to it). Instead we've got Liz Fraser who had previously collaborated with Craig Armstrong on the track This Love, featured on The Cruel Intentions OST and Sara Jay, another new vocalist. The old favourite reggae cool guy Horace Andy and the ever-present vocals of 3D and Daddy G are still to be found though amidst the mix. -- Angel -- A throbbing and almost sub-sonic baseline (well on a 2 Watt per channel mini stereo it would be) is what introduces the album with an even deeper and more subtle riff soon to be added to increase the mood. It's worth noting at this early stage that this album possesses almost obscene amounts of base so if you've got fussy neighbours or a substandard sound system you are forewarned ….. or you could just sod them and love it anyway. Angel is for the most part simplistic and monotonous and gradually builds... Read review
