Advantages: Amazing musicians with tongues well in cheeks Disadvantages: You may have to think...
...It's may come as a strong statement, but I would rate disc one of YCDTOSA Vol 3 as the best hour amonst Frank's huge output - just the right mix of musicianship and comedy, and a guest appearance by Dweezil to boot! From the intracacies of 'Drowning Witch' to the humour of 'Bobby Brown goes Down' and 'Ride my face to Chicago'; the album throws up great quotes both musically and lyrically. Anyone who fails to catch the groove of 'Chana in de Bushwap' and 'Joe's Garage' has no timing anyway. As with the rest of the series, the editing together and flow of the selections adds to the whole package.
The second disc of the album show much more deep musicality, but would be carried on the strength of 'King Kong' and Terry Bozzio's amazing 'Hands with a Hammer' alone. And the stunning 'Zoot Allures' and 'Cosmic Debris' and you have a quality...

...This is a brilliant soundtrack! It features almost every song from the movie, 25 in total!
The first song is Grease, sung by Frankie Valli. Next come the ones sung by the cast - Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted to You, You’re the One That I Want, Sandy, Beauty School Drop-Out, Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee and Greased Lighnin’. Each one is performed brilliantly by John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John and the rest of the cast, and they’re all so catchy you’ll never be able to get them out of your head!
Next come the ones that are sort of in the background through out the movie and at the dance-off – It’s Raining on Prom Night, Alone at the Drive In Movie, Blue Moon, Rock n’ Roll is Here To Stay, Those Magic Changes, Hound Dog, Born to Hand Jive, Tears on My Pillow, Mooning, Freddie My Love...

Advantages: challenging to watch...great soundtrack..all star cast Disadvantages: bad vocals...baffling in places
...Nicholson, Eric Clapton,Elton John , Tina Turner and Paul Nicholas.
THE SOUNDTRACK
I have always been a fan of the WHO and I particularly love Quadrophenia and I found the soundtrack to be very similar indeed. The music, aside from the arias (it is an opera of course!) pinball wizard by Elton John and Acid queen-Tina Tuner is not very memorable...with the exception of Daltrey's haunting "see me, feel me".It is very atmospheric and suits the film perfectly.
THE PLOT
Like a lot of "cult movies"...the plot is challenging and needs to be watched more than once in order to fully understand what's going on. TOMMY is no exception. It begins in quite a straightforward manner a beautiful young couple (Powell,Margaret) man called up to do national service...reported missing. This incidentally was beautifully filmed and I found myself in tears before...
