Advantages: Disadvantages:
...&mdash it's lived-in and complex, just like the group's forays into soul and gospel. While the songs, including the masterpieces "Rocks Off," "Tumbling Dice," "Torn and Frayed," "Happy," "Let It Loose," and "Shine a Light," are all terrific, they blend together, with only certain lyrics and guitar lines emerging from the murk. It's the kind of record that's gripping on the very first listen, but each subsequent listen reveals something new. Few other albums, let alone double albums, have been so rich and masterful as Exile on Main Street, and it stands not only as one of the Stones' best records, but sets a remarkably high standard for all of hard rock....

The words were changed from Let's Spend the Night Together to Some time together.Seems nuts now. At the time the fact they compromised lost them some credibility.

Advantages: Charming acoustic songs Disadvantages: Quality not completely sustained
...Solo albums by members of highly successful rock groups are not always a good thing (see Jagger, Mick or Ashcroft, Richard), but as ever an exception must prove the rule. 'The Sky Is To High' is a charming album, unlike any Blur songs besides the obvious 'You're So Great'. Like YSG this album sounds about as polished as Westlife seem talented.
It begins as it means to carry on with Graham, a guitar and only his fragile voice for company. He may not have the range of Celine Dion, but at least he sounds warm and natural. 'That's All I Wanna Do' is a lovely opener. The album mostly follows this formula of strange chords and mellow guitars.
'Waiting' and 'Me You We Two, paired together in the middle of the album are the most chilled out and least formulaic tracks on the album, but 'Waiting' is definitely the weakest song. It just...
