For the many fans of the verve who were distraught at the collapse of the band, the news of a solo album from Richard Ashcroft was greeted with great optimism. Despite the over-inflated hype surrounding the album, it has lived up to the many expectations. Although it isn't in the same league as Urban Hymns (and to be honest, what is) the two singles released to-date have shown the shear talent that Ashcroft possesses. We all look forward to more releases form Alone With Everybody as a brief respite from the over-commercialized, under-talented music industry.
Hopefully this will be one on many albums to come.
