Alone With His Guitar [ECD] - Hank Williams

...'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends', is a pretty stable record that sees Coldplay back on full spirited indie form. Despite any previous conceptions you might have of the band, this album sounds very different from what you will be accustomed to; it's more exploratory and less stiff than their previous work. They seem to have made the move to incorporate various international sounds, as heard in the dreamy 'Strawberry Swing', which has a predominantly oriental sounding guitar melody. Other tracks follow suit with African drums, Americana guitars and even the odd appearance of slightly Euro-pop melodies. The global appeal is easily spotted on this new addition to the Coldplay cannon and there is no doubt you won't be alone in liking this album!... Read review

Advantages: A truly awesome album showing Rob Thomas & Matchbox 20 at there best.
Disadvantages: Last track has hidden tracks, can be a pain.

...The opening track, Feel (Not to be confused with hit single from Robbie Williams), is a passionate, heavier Matchbox 20. It is a great song with good vocals & good music. But it gets much better. Diseae is a highlight with Rob claiming he has a disease. Doesn't sound nice but in the song it sounds great. Bright Lights would have to be the best with it starting off quiet with Piano & ROb then builing into huge power crunching rock song with great guitar solos. Unwell, starts off with a banjo & ends up being a quite stylish song. Other highlights include Hand Me Down (track 8) & All I Need (track 7). A great album & a must for modern Rock lovers... ...an excellent grunge hit. Deserves its place on the album simply because it's so different to everything else on there! The Shadows - Apache Hank Marvin and co blind the world with a dazzling and shimmering instrumental soft rock fantasy. If galloping horses or tingling guitars are your thing, check this out. Motorhead - Ace of Spades Earlier I said Voodoo Chile was ace. Well this is THE Ace! And it ain't taking no crap from anyone! Hardcore music with hardcore moustaches, this is a brilliant heavy metal biker tune that'll rock you off your Harley. Eddie Cochran - Summertime Blues As with many 50's rock songs, the lyrics tell a story. Of a teenager in America who doesn't 'work a lick' and so doesn't get to borrow his dad's car. Aw. Poor Eddie.
