Advantages: Great songs, lyrics Disadvantages: none; try it!
...A perfect mix of jazz and sophisticated rock, played with consummate skill by all the band members. This is what it's all about! Memorable tracks such as 'Be Still My Beating Heart' and 'This Lazarus Heart' leave you gasping at the musicianship and humming the melody for days! Branford Marsalis is much in evidence throughout, a sublime jazz player flexing his 'fusion' muscles. 'They Dance Alone' is timeless.. a wonderful song, marvellous playing by all, politically correct and a wonderful double-time samba outro.. 'An Englishman In New York', Sting's tribute to Quentin Crisp is also a highlight; the song has more twists and turns than a grand prix circuit! After The Police, this is the direction I hoped he would take. This album is marvellous - may he never dance alone!...

Advantages: Not generic sounding, amazing guitar and drumming, experimental Disadvantages: Not like previous 2 albums, some dud tracks
...for the sake of being heavy. Its all created masterfully and blends together in a whirlwind of sound that leaves you wanting more. However the more I listened to the album the more I began to dislike Three Nil's lyrics. After I missed out the song a few times I began to like it again. It varies frequently on my opinion on the song.
Duality. What to say about this? It created Radio 1 History. This is a song that has the ability to make you sing along and remember the opening sounds. It creates an amazing buzz when you first hear it and is a song that you can listen to on repeat many a time. Opium Of The People is where it goes back to being heavy and fast. Along the lines of blister and three nil. Its a listenable to song in small doses to me personally. Some times it appeals and some times it dosent. Kind of like Three nil.
So far nothing...

Advantages: Beautiful melodies Disadvantages: Only 30 minute CD
...of their own web of melody and the way it interlocks with everybody else.
Tehillim is the hebrew word for 'psalms' and this is a setting of a small part of text praising the glory of God. You do not need to be particularly religious to appreciate this wonderful music. I am very spiritual but my beliefs do not lie with christianity or any other major religion.
The work is scored in 4 sections, the first two being quite fast and merging together and the third acts as a slow movement before the final jubilant section. The piece uses lots of melodic and rhythmic canon, so once you have heard the long and beautiful melody in the voices you will gradually hear it open out into a long and complex series of canons and echos. This effect alone is of a coccoon of music enveloping you whilst the ensemble sustain long chords below. Some of my favourite parts...
