...I used to enjoy this group when i was in my teens. I love Martin Kemp who plays Eastenders.
There were four men in the group but i can only remember three of them. If any one can remember the other let me know.
There were Martin and Gary Kemp the brothers and Tony Hadley. They made plenty of good music like True, gold, just to name a couple.
I loved listening to this music along with many other groups. I used to have all of their music but don't know where they have gone.
It was sad when one day they just stopped releasing music. Most groups in that era have all just died out, too make way for the music of the future....

Eastender Steves Band Review ofGold (The Best Of Spandau Ballet) - Spandau Balletby
belinda9
Advantages: Some excellent songs Disadvantages: quite repetitive
...In my time I have been a 70s chick, a punk, a Mod, a New Romantic, a Glam Rocker, a Heavy Rocker.
In my New Romantic days I used to love Spandau Ballet along with Duran Duran and Visage.
As I love to reminicise I thought I would buy the Gold album from Spandau Ballet.
Tony Hadleys voice is so powerful and still could send shivers down my spine years later.
The tracks listed are.
1:Gold
2:true
3:Only when you leave
4:Lifeline
5:Communication
6:Instinction
7:Chant no 1(I don't need this pressure on )
8:To cut a long story short (First song I heard)
9:The freeze
10:Musclebound(Not one of their best)
11:Paint me down
12:She love like diamond
13:Round and Round
14:Highly Strung
15:Fight for ourselves

Advantages: Good album Disadvantages: Lyrics leave something to be desired
...The Gathering have been around for yeeeeeeaaaaarrs, and they're getting better, and better… and better! It would be easy to lump them in with the 'Euro Goth-Metal' brigade, skipping along the tired and worn path with Moonspell and the like, but I won't. They're not really Goth at all, more, err, 'atmospheric rock'; they're epic and sweeping melodies are plastered all over the album, without seeming cluttered or aimless. Sure they've always had a sort of hippie aesthetic to them, and I'm not totally sure if some of Anneke's lyrics are Scandinavian twee or awful… I think probably the former. This album won't disillusion fans of the band and should get them as big as they are on the continent. Anyone that samples Willie Rushton is deserving of world domination, even if it is a slightly 'trippy' sort of domination. Pass the joint...
