Album Notes: Second album, and first official European release, from one of the most popular young bands on Japan's visual kei scene. Infusing their anthemic rock with a healthy dose of pop songcraft, their original sound is distinctly their own while at times recalling everything from Smashing Pumpkins to Oasis. The band's secret weapon is singer Shou's gorgeous voice, in which he delivers his romantic, poetic lyrics celebrating the beauty in the everyday.
Advantages: Great Album Disadvantages: Schools Out Is The Only Song That Really Sticks Out
...This is probably one of Alices most famous albums. The single Schools out was a major chart success in both the states and the united kingdom reaching number one here and staying at number 1 for a total of nine weeks. The album itself is another theme affair based on the school days of Alice and the band.
Schools Out is the only song that really stand out here. Public Animal Number Nine is a good piece of punk rock. Street Fight and Gutter Cats & The Jets are both based around the music from Leanard Bersteins West Side Story.
All in all a good album but not one of their best and certainly not as good as the albums before and preeceding it....

Advantages: Reconisably part of the modern rock scene, but with enough of it's own identity to stave off the accusations of being generic. Disadvantages: It's variety may be it's downfall. Not a lot for "The Kids" to jump up and down to.
...Not what I expected. I got this album after hearing the rather excellent song Power Struggle. It’s Alice In Chains-style harmonies and White Zombie Riff & Electro Beat sucked me in.
The album, whilst good, has no other track remotely like this. As a Club DJ, this was initially disappointing, but, not wanting to give up on an album straight away, I gave it another couple of listens.
One Minute Sience, as a whole, mines a vein of melancholic rock, flavoured with electronic elements. The Alice In Chains comparison wasn’t far off, but try to think of Alice In Chains being produced by Tricky or Trent Reznor. Lyrically, it’s a fairly introspective beast, not a lot to jump around to, but nice music to sit down with in a dark room.
Recommended if you like: Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains, Rico....

Advantages: Heart Warming, Thought Provoking, Emotional, Disadvantages: None,
...for something interesting to watch on TV hoping to find a good movie or something when I turned the channel to BBC3, it was then I stopped channel hoping, what I saw was Alice, although at the time I had no idea who she was, what I did know was that the individual on the TV screen was stunning, ok I know what your going to say typical bloke and a beautiful women, but let me assure you that was not it, this is going to sound corny but there was something about her that was telling me not to change the channel again, and watch the programme, it was actually quite an eerie feeling as if Alice herself was telling me to watch it.
The programme incidentally was called “The Nine Lives of Alice Martineau” the meaning of which will hopefully become clear later on.
What I was watching was a documentary of the life of Alice Martineau, her dreams, her...
