symbol, but that's what Gary Allan aims for--and achieves--with Alright Guy. His 1999 star-making album, Smoke Rings in the Dark, played that sensual card with the title single and its smouldering video, as well as with the randy "Right Where I Need to Be". Now he reprises the formula with "Man of Me", this album's first single, a hard-driving, libido-strutting rocker with such sexual heat it threatens to burst into flames. If that's what draws buyers, so be it, but there's plenty else to like here, even if Alright Guy, with too many novelty songs and edgy fillers, falls short of its predecessor. While this album takes Allan farther from the honky-tonk than his previous efforts, there's no resisting a guy who can imbue the heartbreak ballad "What I'd Say" with such restrained anguish, or handle the Western swing of "Adobe Walls" with such aplomb. Of all the stylish guys in Nashville in 2001, he's the one to keep your eye on. --Alanna Nash

Advantages: one of the sexiest voices in country music - nice looking too! Disadvantages: not enough slow stuff!!!! he does that so well
...I love this mans voice, the two albums i brought before this (used heart for sale and alrightguy), his rugged good looks and usually his music. But i expected this to be his best album. I read on a website before i brought it that this album was made after his wife committed suicide and it was a healing project.
It's good...even great but not as good as 'alrightguy' a previous album.
It is as country as ever. He sounds great...gravelly, twangy... deep! The songs that he wrote "just got back from hell", "puttin memories away", "no damn good" and "putting my misery on display" are, in my opinion, the best on the album and possibly this is what was meant by it being an emotional journey!
One thing that sets GaryAllan apart from other male country artists is that he does a great ballad. A man's ballad! Alot of pride and a touch...

Advantages: Nice beats Disadvantages: Some songs are a little weak
...This album is a good album, the songs have a nice tune and good lyrics. Most of the songs are about relationships, love. The album is alright. The song that I mostly play is the song that is one of her singles and the name of that song is "like a boy", I like that song because she is basically saying that she wish that women could stitch rolls and act like a guy sometimes and treat the guys that way that they treat the women, like cheating and lying. Another song on the album that is also great is a song that is another one of her singles and the name of the song is "Promise", the song is her basically saying to her man that she promise she would never lie to him or hurt him in any way....

Kerrang is LOUD! Review ofKerrang Vol.4 - Various Artistsby
bendontgamble
Advantages: compilation already done! great variety Disadvantages: a few pointless songs lol
.... Puddle of muds blurry, and papa roach's she loves me not are two of my up most favourite and both those songs made me by the two albums, as one song from each band wasn't enough .
Hoobstanks running away and Chad Kroger 'hero' (from Spiderman) is also a classic now. And that's only disc 1!
On disc 2 there's another Nickelback smash hit - too bad, x-ecutioners featuring mike shinoda and mr Hahn of linkin park - its going down, sum 41's fat lip, and one of the best songs and bands to come out of 2002 (complimations release year) is tribute by Tenacious D. If you have read any of my other reviews you will know I am also a real tenacious D fan, mainly after loving this song!
Here are all the songs:
Titles on Disc 1
1.: Keep Fishin' - Weezer
2.: Girl All The Bad Guys Want - Bowling For Soup
3.: Envy - Ash
4.: Die Alright - Hives
5...
