Advantages: Sounds familiar Disadvantages: No surprises
...Ok yes I know it's been out for a while and most people will be familiar with it already.
Received this album just last week and I've played it four or five times already and it has some very familiar sounds.
Track listing
1. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine
2. Mr Brightside
3. Smile Like You Mean It
4. Somebody Told Me
5. All These Things That I’ve Done
6. Andy, You’re A Star
7. On Top
8. Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll
9. Believe Me Natalie
10. Midnight Show
11. Everything Will Be Alright
Of course there are the hit singles "Mr Brightside", "Somebody told me" and "All these things I've done", it's almost like someone has taken my late seventies/early eighties record collection and distilled it into this heady brew.
A little bit of "The Skids", lots of "David Bowie", some very early pre-pretentious "U2", even...

Advantages: Great Indie tracks! Understandable lyrics, good value, plenty of tracks! Disadvantages: No lyrics written inside album sleeve but not a huge problem for me!
...The killers- who are they???
They are for me personally one of the best 'indie' bands to come out of America in 2005! Coming from Las Vegas these guys are: Brandon Flowers- Vox, synthesiser, Dave Keuning- Guitar, Mark Stoermer- Bass, Ronnie Vannucci- drums.
I promise you that if you like indie/rock music you will love the killers! you can't go to an 'indie' night in England without hearing one killers track and at least half the crowd singing along at the tops of there voices and if you buy this album and like indie music you will soon be singing along!
I even managed to get my Dad into the Killers and he loves elvis, queen and kylie.
Ok so here is my track by track review of each song:
Jenny was a Friend of Mine- First track to kick off the album and its a great song, its really hard to describe what the songs about basically a guy...

Advantages: Larger-than-life songs, original arrangements Disadvantages: Might be a little too "performance-based" for some
...songs. There's sizeable influence from jazz here although it's not dominant, whilst others fall back upon folkier roots. Omnipresent, however, is her cultured piano playing - it provides a pleasant backbone to the slower numbers. This album is hardly background music - it virtually demands serious listening, but manages to remain very enjoyable.
There are a lot of tracks on "The Blistering Sun" - fifteen in all:
01. Alright, OK
02. Featherwoman
03. 93 Maidens
04. Wildflower
05. Violet Or Blue
06. Lonely Streets
07. Older
08. Hit Song
09. Burning Witch
10. Paperplane
11. Proof
12. Surprise
13. Anything Anywhere
14. C'mon Over
15. Calypso
Once "Alright, OK" spins up on the CD player you know you're in for something a little different. The jazz influence is omnipresent but content to sit in the background, never all-consuming, whilst...
