Lily Allen made leaped onto the music scene last year with this album Alright Still. Making herself famous for her girly/chav dress sense, apparently catchy tunes, and her extreme honestness.

Lily Allen seems immature and will probably appeal alot more to teenager girls then to anybody else. This is clearly reflected by the music and lyrics. Lily writes about many a topics which all seem to reflect her honest attitude. Famous for slagging off other artists that are better at what they do definetly more talented and more famous such as Amy Winehouse and Madonna. Lily Allen does appear to be a little girl thinking she is better than she actually is. Nevertheless the album is still OK and many of the songs are good.

Track 1 - Smile
This is a very summery and happy song which is probably reflected in the title. If you have heard of Lily Allen you will have defintely have heard this song. The tune and melody of the song may be regarded as catchy and it is one will probably enjoy singing along to. Infact you could probably out sing Lily Allen if you did, this song does display how simple her voice really is. I think many people could do better. The lyrics can be quite amusing. Overall the song is a nice pick me up song but i dont expect it to be awarded with any prestigous awards for the singing.

Track 2 - Knock Them Out
At the beginning of this song you could be mistakened into expecting Nina Simone. However this moment is quickly spoilt with Allen speaking over the music. I dont think you could describe most of this song as being sang as many of it is spoken. If i could describe this song in one word i would choose chavtastic. The lyrics are about picking up guys in a nightclub and excuses you may use. To be honest its pretty lame. I can imagine young teenagers finding this hilarious, even more frightnening it wouldnt suprise me if two years time i was in a club and saw these 13 year old girls sneaking into clubs and using this song as a guide. What a disastourous thought. As you have probably guessed i dont like this song.

Track 3 - LDN
This song is quite sweet. Another simple summery pick me up song. The lyrics for once i can actually relate to, it describes the underlying problems of somewhere that you might not notice in your everyday routine. But if you look properly you can spot. Another one of Allens more famous songs. Voice as usual is simple and not exciting, thank goodness for the catchy beats otherwise this album would be seriously rubbish.

Track 4 - Everythings Just Wonderful
WOW finally a song where Lily Allen changes the pitch and tone of her voice, i think that alone deserves a round of applause. Very average not that exciting. Defintely a filler track used to bump up the album would never in a billion years make a single that would ever get in the top 50. Lyrics are bog standard actually that is probably the best way to describe this entire song.

Track 5 - Not Big
From the title of this song you can probably guess what the lyrics are about. Crikey i feel sorry for her exes. Yes its about a boyfriend that no longer is and his incapabilities and lacking in body parts when it comes to the bedroom. A very immature topic and lyrics, although humourous because of this. Note to all males out there do not cheat on Lily Allen i dread what songs there will be on her next album. You might enjoy this song - i especially recommend this after a break up! Might cheer you up singing this into a hairbrush after a bottle of wine. Yet again simple melody - starting to get a bit repetitive really.

Track 6 - Friday Night
Although it pains me to say it but i quite like this song. I dont think its anything to do with Allen though , i suspect it is the reggae beat throughout the track that has mad me fond of it. Lyrics are yet again about boyfriends and rival girls. Simple - O What A Suprise! but quite sweet.

Track 7 - Shame For You
By this point in the album i am starting to get a bit bored. Thank goodness for the more lively and catchy chorus - otherwise i would probably throw my stereo out the window. Poor Lyrics. Another filler track YAWN o well am getting used to this. Sweet might be nice to play this track along with the rest of the album while driving aloing on a summers day. Song doesnt appeal to me but other people may love it.

Track 8 - Littlest Things
This track is obviously about a break up, i think most people will be able to relate to the experiences described when she first starts dating this person. I like this song is really sweet, reminds me of when me and my boyfriend first started going out (obviously only some of them apply as we were 14! ) Its still a nice song though. In this song Allens very simple voice perfectly fits the topic and style of the song. Worth a listen but not one to follow "Not Big" might restore depressiveness after a break up.

Track 9 - Take What You Take
This song is annoyingly catchy for me. I end up humming the tune and miming the words for this song most of the day if i hear it in the morning. I dont even know why its not that great. A good beginning to the track though, with very catchy lyrics and music. OK is probably the best way to describe it.

Track 10 - Friend Of Mine
Unusual beginning which i like, sounds a bit reggae actually. Simplistic Track. Seems very sweet, thank goodness for the music otherwise this song would be the most annoying high pitched 3 minutes of your life! Lyrics are immature as usual but the song has a nice feel to it. Ok for a near end album song, better than a filler track but probably wouldnt make a great single.

Track 11 - Alfie
Oh dear alfie do i feel sorry for you. Yes this time Alfie, Lily Allens brother feels the wrath of her song writing. The beginning of this track makes it sound like it should it should be played at a circus or at least at a dodgy funfair. This song is about when Lilys teenage brother seemed to be wasting his life away in his bedroom smoking weed. Hmmm Ok then. Apparently she wrote this song because she cared and loved her brother - nothing to do with nationally humilating him but then i guess as his big sister it comes with the territory. I personally find this song hilarious the lyrics and topic are portrayed as very comical. It almost seems although lily allen is mnaking what should probably be a serious subject into a joke with the circus music. However the song is very catchy along with the words. Im sure this song will probably be back to haunt us at some point.

Overall i would say the album is simple but lovely. I wouldnt ever nominate Lily Allen for best writer etc. But she does make a lovely pop act and at the end of the day i assume thats what she wants to do. One thing for sure is that she has coome a long way from her MySpace days (a social networking site ) Lily Allen first put some if her songs on this website and realised that people actually enjoyed them. Soon she was swamped with friends and this is how she got her music noticed. Good for her is all i say - i always feel alot more respect for people who have had an ambition and gone out there and done something about it.

Many people have also accused Lily Allen of playing off her Dad, Keith Allen. But to be fair when i first bought this album i didnt have a clue that this was her dad. I think its unfair to say this especially when she got out there and did it all for herself.

Bearing in mind her age and this being her frst album after being thrusted into the limelight. I assume there can only be more things to come, hopefully now with a mature twist which may appeal to a wider audience. This album i would never descibe as my favourite and no doubt it wont stay on my ipod forever. But it is really sweet and can be picked up cheaply now which makes it even better value for money. If you are into pop music and dont own this record i would recommend buying it. However if you are expecting groundbreaking music give it a miss , you will be left dissapointed.

Overall simple nice and a good first album.
