Album Notes: Long-awaited sophomore outing, following 2005's 'Young For Eternity', from youthful, grunge-inspired Brit trio. This album saw the band decamp to LA to work with legendary US alt-rock producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins), who beefed up and smoothed out their sound. The result is a considerable sonic progression from the rudimentary garage punk of their debut, which sees them absorbing various influences from US rock history and beyond. Includes the singles 'Alright' and the download-only 'Girls & Boys'.
Advantages: great relaxing music Disadvantages: none
...Feeder's music is always complicated but easy to understand if you know what i meen alot of time and thought has obviously went into this album and each song folows on from the one before. There way of preforming their music is very original and stands out from other bands. There lyrics are amazing and i love how they can change there style of music and it stillsounds great. Feeder are one of my favourite bands and if you have this album you will probably know why if you dont i would strongly recomend it. some of the music has got me through alot of tough times and every time i listen to there music it fills me with joy. I love all the songs on the album. If you like this band check out these ones to all american rejects, simple plan, the subways, billy talent and greenday....

cuts it for me! Review ofScissor Sisters - Scissor Sistersby
neilskim
Advantages: great band , willing to experiment Disadvantages: the neighbours complain
...just before i write my review, thought i'd let u know how they got their name if u don't already know. it is not that they are hair dressers, the scissor sisters are lesbians on the subway in NYC and get their kicks by flashing other 'sisters'.
anyway, i thoroughly enjoyed this album and still do every time i hear it, obviously after a while one or two songs were a little overplayed both by myself and on the radio. it is very different from anything else around at the moment. if u have an open mind concerning music, its well worth buying, there are a few tracks which are very camp, some quite glam rocky all blended together with some nice bass lines, experimental rifts and a few fair ground noises to emphasise the fun side to the music.
go get it!...

Advantages: Punchy and energetic; good fun to listen to. Disadvantages: Tails off towards the end.
...such as Fishbone and Fire Hose who they name-drop and sample.
2. Higher Ground
A cover of the Stevie Wonder classic, which might offend purists, but is an upbeat, drum-propelled dance floor filler. Obvious single.
3. Subway to Venus
A quirky number, the first on the album about drugs - a popular subject for the RHCP. I'm no expert, but according to the lyrics certain chemical substances can make you 'wiggle like a wiggly worm'! How nice!
4. Magic Johnson
A celebration of the legendary basketball star and his team, the LA Lakers. Fast drumming from Chad and rapping from Anthony, coupled with sound effects from basketball games make this an amusing little mantra for lovers of the sport.
5. Nobody Weird Like Me
Amazing bass at the beginning of the track from Flea. The song itself can be easily adopted by any spotty youth who feels they are 'different...
