Advantages: It just feels right Disadvantages: where is vol 2 ???
...The Viva Diablo Blanco compilation is a carefully selection of hyms of drum'n'bass / ambient tunes from the mid 90's. You'll be sure to rebember tracks such as Apollo 440's "Ain't Talking about dub" and Fat Boy Slim's "Song for Linda" and at the same time recall some less mainstream artists such as The Aloof and The Art of Noise and on top some very good remixes by the likes of the brazillian collective Filla Brazilia and others.
All in all this album does really capture the essence of the whole snowboarding sub-culture, so the snowboarder on the album's cover isn't just a fluke.
In a few words this compilation is bold, young and fast paced, but still a ambient album that you can play over and over....

...This is a double album containing 40 songs containing songs such as: 'Masterplan' by Oasis, 'Wide open space' by Mansun, 'U16 girls' by Travis and 'Hedonism' by Skunk Anansie.
It was actually produced in 1997, but still sounds just as good.
It's good value for money as it contains the best of indie music at that time, and as it was made a while ago, you can probably now get hold of it pretty cheaply.
If you're an indie fan, it also introduces a few bands you might not have heard of, but will probably like....

Advantages: Great acoustic music Disadvantages: some tracks are not how you know them
...I don't often listen to Radio 1, but this one time I did, they were playing only tracks recorded in the live lounge - And I Loved It. the songs were not remastered and you could hear the lyrics and music without all the extras that make some people buy their tracks.
The copies by artists of other artists songs are of superb quality, and some really make it their own. When I listen to them I just love the fact that they are live recordings with no additionals. Its great that artists are comfortable with singing live, acoustic, and other peoples songs.
By listening to the tracks you can tell which artists can sing and which artists definately need to remaster their tracks to sell their singles/albums. Or which need to lip synch for their live gigs.
I'll let you make up your own mind who you think these artists are out of artists like...
