Advantages: Accessible to Pop charts Disadvantages: a complete change in styles from heavy rock to unashamed pop
...Offspring are a METAL band turned poppy. I HATE that. Their first couple of albums were great and I was looking forward to Americana. I bought it, listened to it and was surprised to find that Offspring were no longer a metal band, not even a rock band , but this music was twinkly pop. Sure the tunes are good and the music is definately better than what is in the pop charts at the moment but they should have stuck to Metal or rock. OK so they wanted to make a quick buck, but now they've lost they're hard earned reputation with alt/rock fans. In conclusion this album isn't bad, it's just not what everyone was expecting or wanted. So if you like alt/pop music, buy it, but if you like heavy rock/metal stear well clear!...

Advantages: Best van halen album, groundbreaking Disadvantages: N/A
...The album is definetly Van Halen's greatest. It features the awesome air guitar worthy solo 'Eruption', with amazing guitar work featuring techniques such as tapping, dive bombing and harmonics. The guitar tone is amazing. In addittion to the outstanding contributions from Eddie Van Halen (guitarist), theres some top tunes on this album. Notably tracks such as 'Atomic Punk, Ain't Talkin' Bout Love' and 'Runnin' With The Devil'. Van Halen successfully mix heavy metal with laid back american 50's blues (check out their cover of 'Ice Cream Man'), and do a great cover of the Kinks' song 'You Really Got Me', complete with an awesome Eddie Van Halen guitar solo. This is personally my favourite album, It can never really be matched. If you dont buy it, it really is your loss....

"Dead In Love"
A wonderfully sleazy piece of hard rock with Josh's montonic croon swooping over the music. Moderately strange and spooky with a sense of urgency.
"I Wanna Make It Wit Chu"
A sweet bouncy piano driven tune with laid back funky guitars, and back ground vocals by Polly Jean Harvey. Incredibly catchy, slightly trippy, laid back and one of those...
