Advantages: UNDERSTATED BRILLIANCE IN A CD Disadvantages: ERM... DUNNO!
...'Amazing Grace' by Spiritualized. Is it, like some of its fellow overlooked LPs, dying on the musical vine, in the shadow of ' Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space'. The LP that made Spiritualized a name to be remembered and reckoned with. Jason and his band of soul searching villains have, since then, released a few LPs, as well as a greatest hits / obscurities compilation, which was all very well, and a 'Live @ The Royal Albert Hall' LP, they released 'Let It Come Down'.
It was a great LP that subtly strayed from a tried and tested formula, involving an almost domineering keyboard sound, with Jason singing his heart out about the trials and tribulations of getting to a better place through the crap thrown your way after all the bad choices you've made...
Trouble is that on both 'Let It Come Down' and to some respects...

...I first heard this track many years ago on a beach in spain, I liked it then, but never got round to buying the track.
When I got together with my now ex boyfriend, he did me a tape of his favourite songs.
This was one of the ones on there, and I fell in love with it all over again.
Luthers early stuff is brilliant, his latter stuff I dont really rate much.
This is a soft, ballad, with amazing lyrics, sung beautifully.
It still brings a tear to my eye, listening to it, I got it out yesterday and listened to it yet again, and even now it makes me go all gooey inside.
"so amazing to be loved"
it is amazing to be loved thanks luther!
A must for any couples slushy song reportoire, though as with all songs like this, it will always hold a place for only one person in your heart, one song one love, the song is irreplacable.......

...Amazing Grace the album!
************************
Tracy and me have had this album for some time so I thought I should opinionate it.
Now! I am definately not a religous guy (and nor is the missus,[she's a girl of course, just thought I'd clear that up] in case your wondering)
in any sense of the word, but I do like gospel songs. And who could sing them better than Elvis Presley????. ( no-one I would wager.).
So a few years ago we bought the Amazing Grace album by Elvis Presley. Got to be honest, we have always liked Elvis music (which I like to play on my guitar in the privacy of my house where think knowone can hear me,[ the missus (tracy by the way) thinks different] generally when I've had a few beers [ sad I know ].)
Anyway (as I seem to be digressing from the point of this op!) to the album...
