Amazing (Single) - George Michael

Advantages: A catchy melody and lyrics, song sells itself
Disadvantages: Been played on the radio too much now!

...When I first heard Amazing I was pleasantly surprised. George himself said on Parkinson that he usually writes and releases 'I'm so miserable' songs, and that is what he has become known for, until this song. Amazing celebrates love and being in love. It is a lovely upbeat and positive tune that leaves me feeling happy, until I've heard it on the radio too much! ...word 'Amore'. CD 1 has Amazing and a remix of Freeek! on it, and CD 2 contains the radio edit and 2 remixes of Amazing. The remixes are good, but I would have liked a DVD-Rom feature on it or something. It is one of my favourite songs at the moment and will be on the compilation CDs I am making for my holiday. Advantages: A smashing pop song

This single is taken from the forthcoming album "Patience". It has just crashed into the UK charts at number 4. The song is available in just 2 CDs, one with remixes (2.99 in most record stores) and one with "Amazing" and the 2004 remix of "Freeek!" (£1.99). In Woolworths on the day of release, both CDs were £1.99. I bought the 2 track CD as I wanted the "Freeek!" remix. I would have preferred a 99p single to be released but that's the fault of ...
...of George's and his partner's wedding bands on (sob!) and it's clearly another auto-biographical track. The topic is a little boring to be honest but the tune is a great pop love song. It's easy to dance to, with an infectious "da, da, da" intro and catchy chorus. If this is a taste of the album, then "Patience" should reach Number One quite easily. ... Read review
