...To follow up any Mercury award winning album (‘Stories’ won a much acclaimed Mercury Prize in 2001) is hard enough, but to write, perform, record, mix and produce it all yourself is what most artists honestly say they have not previously ever done. However, that is exactly what PJ Harvey has done, and has come up with this beautifully crafted soul searching album titled 'Uh Huh Her', meant as a simile of how people perceive her character. This album is in it's own ray of light, and has a wonderful springboard with the first track 'The Life And Death Of Mr. Badmouth'. This is such a personal song, which reflects of her own ''Mr Badmouth'', which she was during her gypsy days that has now slowly faded away and died. This comes across in her performance and the way she chooses to express the lyrics, sets the whole tone for this album... Read review

Advantages: great bonus disc full of strong tracks
Disadvantages: couple of fillers in there but at the price it is no disadvanatge

...as moz recoils upon difficult times with reference to various different authority. another strong track 8/10 'First of the gang to die' is the pinnacle not just of the album but of Morrissey in general, a catchy, querky and breathtakingly brilliant effort that is an instant classic. A fan favourite throughout every tour that has followed. The album took a long time to make but this song makes it seem worthwhile. 10/10 'Let me kiss you' is another standout track with stunning guitars and excellent, poignant Morrissey lyrics. another single 9/10 'all the lazy dykes' is a typical title for a morrissey song though after the brilliance of the previous two tracks it is inevitable that this doesnt hold up but on reflection is still a welcome addition... Advantages: Like the film ... the songs are quality !!
Disadvantages: None at all!

...No matter how many times I listen to this CD I still love it as much as the first time I heard it. If you liked the movie you'll like the soundtrack. Each song will remind you of one of the great parts of it ! But even if you havent seen the movie these songs are great. Features a wide range of great artists from Eels to the Counting Crows and even the amazing Jennifer Saunders herself !! The songs vary in genre with songs like Holding Out For A Hero and Livin' La Vida Loca which get you moving and songs like I Need Some Sleep by the Eels which are slower and more chilled out.
