America Town by Five For Fighting is a hidden Gem on the Music scene. A friend introduced me to them quite a while back. As usual i dismissed them- as i do with most of my friends short lived crazes. But the more i listened, the better and better it became.
Then i heard Superman- a truely great track and my whole out look on the album changed. I realised the album in actual fact really was very good indeed. The album offers a number of tracks that you can really get behind and enjoy. Particular favourites of mine are, of course Superman, Alright and Easy Tonight.
Dont think for a second that the album is only led by the Superman track. There are a number of other songs on the album that carry just as much weight.
Like all albums there are one or two weak links. For me Jainy is the track i struggled with. Then again i am sure others could really enjoy it.
Overall then, America Town is a great band, by an unappreciated group that could be added to your collection at a very reasonable price. Ebay is always good for a bargain. I recommend you try there first.
***I few people have requested some information on the band. Firstly thankyou very much for your comments, its great to read. The only problem is im affraid i cant help you much. They really havn't publicised themselve brillantly. I know they are American although i feel i may be stating the obvious. The album has also been about for a year and a half maybe more. All i can suggest is a few internet searches to hunt them down. All i know is i enjoyed the album loads and sure they wouldn't disappoint you. Sorry i couldn't help you anymore than that.***
