The album was released in 1998 and consists of 13 tracks of fast moving exciting music that in my mind stands out in today’s music scene as being something different.
I may be a little biased to write as review about RobZombies solo career simply because I have been a big fan of his work with White Zombie for several years before the group members finally parted company. However this album is worthy of comment by any heavy music fan.
RobZombies links with horror films are plain to see from before you open the CD case, with a depiction of himself standing with glowing yellow eyes as the front cover. This is also reflected in the album tracks, starting with the first track Call Of the Zombie. I personally dont rate Robby his movies, but his music is a different matter.
Some truly great songs on this album. They are great songs for listening to for a rush and the songs have some great tunes that are memorable
There are lots of extras on this particular version that make it worth the cost. The DVD is a welcome addition, that adds so much more value and enjoyment onto this package.
The artwork is something of its own class. It is "cool" enough to put it on the same pedestral as Iron Maiden. Sinster, creepy, most certainly, but the coolness overwhelms it.
There are a course few fillers on the album, but these can be listened to with ease and are by no mean terrible, long or spoiling.
This is worth every penny of its price, and scouting around will find it for you even cheaper ...

Robzombie is a mix of heavy conventional beats, synthetic sounds and sampled sound clips which in 1998 was a refreshing introduction to mainstream as one needed to know the underground seen quite well to find the same type of sounds.

Some songs are very heavy and some are much softer such as spook show baby letting strings and tom drums be heard rather then the normal distortion pedal and synthesizer.
In truth if you like heavier music this is the robzombie cd for you as it only has a touch of industrial and electronic to it and every subsequent cd has gone further towards being industrial. ...

Contains remixes of tracks on HELLBILLY DELUXE by various artists including Charlie Clouser, God Lives Underwater, Philip Steir, Rammstein, Chris Vrenna. Personnel: Rob Zombie (vocals); Riggs (guitar); Blasko (bass); Tempesta (drums). Rob Zombie has made a successful career out of bombastic rock music, with huge drums and even huger riffs accompanying scary lyrics, packaged like contemporary versions of '50s B-movies seen through the eyes of high school students. His second album since the dissolution of his band White Zombie is a collection of remixes of tracks from his first, HELLBILLY DELUXE, and on it he moves into the world of dance music--sort of. The remixes here do two primary things: they increase the beats per minute and they move the vocals further forward in the mix. "Meet the Creeper," remixed by DJ Lethal, is one a few tracks that successfully managed to amp up the B-movie threat--which, given its largely cartoony nature, is no mean feat--into an actual threatening sound. No strangers to cartoony threatening music themselves, Rammstein's take on "Spookshow Baby" is surprisingly effective, adding massive crunch against a more spacious backing. "Demoniod Phenomenon" is a treated to a jackhammer dance beat. While most of the mixes here rearrange the beats without messing with the riffs, when "Return of the Phantom Stranger" does it comes across as a carefully controlled creep-out that is far superior to the original version.
