Advantages: amazing vocals, aggressive, sounds new and fresh Disadvantages: a few weaker tracks
...The legendary Rob Halford has rejoined Judas Priest and now Tim Owens had to find another band to join. Now in 2004 we have the fortune to hear one of the world's most underrated vocalists with Iced Earth on their new release "The glorious burden". Replacing the much beloved Matth Barlow on the vocals was not an easy task, but I think this was the best thing that could happen to this band since Tim's amazing range and aggressive vocal delivery fits in my opinium better their music than Barlow voice. New to the band is also Ralph Santolla replacing Larry Tarnowski on the guitar.
This is a very patriotic album about the American history of war. The path of this album is set from the beginning with "Star sprangled banner" which is as you guessed the US national anthem, played with guitar and "military marching drums". The songs deal about...

Advantages: Great sound, great, intelligent, lyrics Disadvantages: Can't think of one
...Who on earth categorised this under "Heavy Metal"?
VNV Nation are the duo of Mark Jackson and Ronan Harris, from London and Ireland, respectively. They now work in Germany where their music which is generally classified as "Industrial" or "EBM" or even loosely "Trance" (but not even close to heavy metal!!) is very popular.
This album is my first experience of VNV Nation and I must admit I aim to hear more. The sound could perhaps be described as Jean Michel Jarre on steroids with a healthy dose of vocals from Pete Burns - but that would be doing a big disservice to all involved! They are, in my experience at least, unique. Lyrically very intelligent (and intelligeable!) and musically complex. Ronan Harris has a voice which can easily be heart rending - especially as on my favourite track 'Beloved'. But it can also be quite delicate...

Advantages: Melodic ecological messages Disadvantages: Noth everyone's style of music
...Earth Songs
The reasons I am writing this review
There are just some artists that you seem to connect with. John Denver was one of these artists for me. His songs embodied many of my beliefs and hopes both personal and global. I was lucky to have watched him perform live in Liverpool before his tragic death in 1997. An experience I will always remember.
Earth songs conveys a number of important ecological messages that we should all be aware of and remember in our daily lives.
Dedication
To John Denver who died on October 12th 1997.
Introduction
The album is a collection of songs written and performed by John Denver.
Denver performed at the Earth Day celebrations on April 22nd 1990 in Washington. He sang a selection of ecology-themed tunes, which he later recorded for the album Earth Songs. The proceeds from sales went...
