Advantages: Beautiful music.
Disadvantages: Not every tune is top class.

...This album is an absolutely glorious collection of emotive, powerful tunes by the great Irish band, Clannad, including all of the greatest hits by that band, such as 'The Theme from Harry's Game'. There are many spellbinding tunes, such as 'Skellig', 'Something to Believe In' and 'Almost Seems to Late to Turn'. These songs enrapture the soul and move one greatly with the soulful singing and powerful instrumentation. 'Robin- The Hooded Man' is also on this CD, which was an immense success and came from the album 'Legend' which won a BAFTA, the first Irish band to ever do so. Disadvantages: If you already have some of Clannad's other work you may already have most of this compilation.

And now you can get the movie that is composed mostly of music by Clannad. Anyone who's seen it and heard the music will tell you how enrapturing this film was. An Diolaim: Folk Roots of One of Ireland's Groups (1998) This is the album that got me hooked on Clannad. It's a wonderful compilation of some of their old and new material on one CD. Advantages: excellent easy listening

...Clannad includes Maire, Moya and Ciaran Brennan and others include Bono, Bruce Hornsby.Clannad was one of the first Irish bands to attempt to get into ambient music. On this album THE GREATEST HITS, we listen to some of Clannad's best-loved songs, including the "Theme from Harry's Game." This song,was written for a popular BBC television program, Harry's Game which is probably Clannad's most moving, haunting composition, although some may say there are alot of choir-like vocals on this album. This album cover lots of 1982-1989 recordings. It's very cheap to buy with some wonderful harmonies to listen to and enjoy and comes from aband who have been a active family band now for 30 years or more in this time they have recorded approx 16 albums all listened to and loved by many .
