I really enjoyed this album. I have been a fan of Editors since I heard their first album and eagerly awaited the new one from them. It's not been rushed out so I expected good things from their second outing. Smokers outside hospital doors is a good song and an excellent choice for a single. The lyrics are very dark and meaningful, but he tune itself moves along nicely and the chorus is catchy enough to stop it from being too depressing. The other tracks on the album follow the same pattern, and arguably the same patter as the first album, Editors have not changed their sound at all for this latest offering, but why change something that works? Overall I enjoyed the first album and I enjoy this one too. Its very easy to listen too as background music. Maybe it could be argued that the style isn't sophisticated compared to other bands or that they havent developed their sound at all from the first album, but in my opinion all that matters is that I enjoy listening to it and every time I put it on it still sounds great.
