'Cheerfully depressive' is probably the best way to sum this album up! Some excellent melodies and powerful guitars make 'An End Has a Start' an album of depth that will become a favourite on your gramophone!
Unlike the other comments on this site, I think the album does show some progress on their debut, and the sound is a little more mature. Perhaps one criticism is that the slower songs are not in the same league as some of the 'rockier' tracks but that's not to say that they are weak. I put the CD in the car six weeks ago and I'm still listening t o it solidly now.
Buy this if you like 'Interpol' and don't listen to it if you've just been dumped by your missus.

debut and carved a perfect niche with a unique sound.OK, there were shades of numerous other Brit-rock bands there, plusmore than a hint of Joy Divisionbleakness. ...
Advantages: Lyrically strong and musically very promising. Disadvantages: It just isnt as great as their first album.Songs start firey but fizzle out too soon.
