Anastacia (Anastacia Newkirk) originally from the Greek work meaning 'she will rise again'. But has Anastacia managed to live up to her names origin??
Anasatcia, 31, was originally brought up in New York and was born into a entertainment-orientated family. With her father a singer and mother an actress in musicla theatre on Broadway it must of only been a matter of time before she broke out into the performing arts world herself!
Anastacia started her career as a dancer, appearing on Club MTV in such music videos as Salt-N-Pepa’s ‘Everybody Get Up’. Her first album, Not That Kind (2000), and her second album, Freak of Nature (2001) were hugely successful but after that she seemed to dissapear of the face of the earth like so many pop stars! Was she a limited time only performer or could she regain her chart status?
In early January 2003 it was revealed that Anastacia had been diagnosed with breast cancer when waiting for breast reduction surgery for ortherpedic reasons. The pop princess completed a course of treatment sucessful and was back in the studios in September 2003 with Glen Ballard, Dallas Austin and Dave Stewart recording her third album ‘Anastacia’ to be realeased 2004!
When she released ‘Left Outside Alone’ earlier this year I knew at once, she’s back! After purchasing her long awaited third album I can say nothing other than I am amazed with the quality of the tracks on the album (also even though I bought the album at standard album price I am satisfied completely with the price as Anastacia now donates a total of album sales to charity to inform awareness of breast cancer to young women).
All the tracks are personal and are produced with her heart and soul in the song. Every song is pack with the emotion that resembles the ups and downs Anastacia has been through over the last few years.
After an artist takes a long break out of the limelight it’s hard to resume their status, especially after such chart breakers as ‘Paid My Dues’, ‘Not That Kind’ and ‘Im Outta Love’ to contend with. But Anastacia has managed it, in, my opinion, one of the best comebacks in music ever!! After her cancer treatment she semms to have gains a new lease of life and with the combination of experimenting with diferrent kind of music and writing has managed to produce an album with 12 quality tracks, which I believe could be one of the best albums of the year!
Anastacia music has always been renowed for the lively music and well written lyrics but even she seems to have outdone herself. Where most albums produced have a few brilliant tracks with not so good tracks as filins this one does not! Everyy track on the album is equal or even higher in quality to the one proceeding it and with the range of styles she has included its hard to get bored with it. Every track is great in its own way and I cannot see any reason why you should be dissapointed!
Track List 1. Seasons Change 2. Left Outside Alone 3. Time 4. Sick and Tired 5. Heavy On My Heart 6. I Do Ft. Sonny From POD 7. Welcome To My Truth 8. Pretty Little Dum Dum 9. Sexy Single 10. Rearview 11. Where Do I Belong 12. Maybe Today
This album is definitely worth the money and is deinately worth a listen by anyone!

Hey! My dad loves Anastacia! He always goes on about her 'three voices' in 'Left Outside Alone' - that was really catchy, but I'm not as find of her new one, 'Sick and Tired'. Good review, I might have to borrow my dad's album and have a listen!
