Advantages:
It's Metallica, quite simply . Amid much criticism from the American public in their early years they still knock out such fantastic, original tracks . Well worth purchasing
Disadvantages:
Bass is too quiet depending on how you like your metal but doesn't do much to spoil sound

The second best-selling studio album of Metallica but regarded by many - of my friends at least - as the weakest. I, however, see it as probably the strongest challenger to the mighty Black Album which reigns supreme as one of the greatest albums of all time.
...And Justice For All is the first appearance of bassist Jason Newsted following the death of Cliff Burton so a few songs have major influences from the latter. There were rumours that Jason was not too popular emerging from his recent quitting of the band and so his bass was turned right down on this record. There is certainly less bass than other 'tallica cds but don't let this put you off.
Broken, thrash metal is the dominating theme for the tracks on the album which is what makes it so appealing to me, so if you go for that it's already well worth a listen. The defining moment is clearly the award winning 'One': everyone I know that is into metal is into this track. A mellow, ballad-like opening - although the lyrics describing the effects of war contradict that entirely - leads to a high-speed, thrash ending with arguably the best Kirk Hammet solo to date.
'To Live Is To Die' is an emotional track with the six lines of Cliff Burton amid typical catchy and well-worked guitar riffs you become accustomed to with Metallica. This time, however, they do become mildly repetitive yet not enough to make you reach desperatley for the skip button.
Originality is one thing that makes Metallica the greatest metal band ever. Combining the new-found broken-metal stlye with Marilyn Manson stlye drumming in 'Harvester Of Sorrow' highlight the talent and genius for trying out new ideas within this band.
