Advantages: Lots of variation in genres and styles of tracks; brilliant, strong and unique vocals
Disadvantages: Not as many stand out tracks as her earlier album

Advantages: It's REM - they can never be BAD
Disadvantages: Too many 'non-songs'; too slow

...in his hands by asking the singer what the song was all about. For a man who, only a few years ago, was reluctant for people to even know what his words were, never mind what they meant, his answer was forthright and fascinating. It is a prequel to "Daysleeper" from the last album and is about the same character. She lies on her bed and dreams but her ‘dream-self’ keeps hitting the ceiling, she cannot penetrate it. Consequently, her dreams are confined by her natural and physical boundaries. She goes to a seminar to learn how to break free of these constrictions and be able to go anywhere in her dreams. Hmm, exactly what I thought! (Now, if we can only get Michael to explain what his explanations mean!) Just kidding. I’m sure you get the idea and it’s these sort of lyrics that set Stipe apart from the mundane in my view... Read review
