Well after the Ruff Ryders Anthem mania DMX has been on a downward spiral, his first two albums were very consistent and brought the rugged DMX through with quality. And Then There Was X however has been brought down to the commercial level. A sell out. Swizz Beatz churns his monchrome one dimensional beats once again here, the albums downfall. There are a lot of weak tracks on the album, Party Up, What its like featuring Sisqo was just completely boring, the second verse with just girls names was an insult to the hiphop culture.
Just hope 'The Great Depression' can manage to deliver. If not it seems DMX would rather dedicate his time to making boring movies than spending time in the studio making quality music, but once he hits the stage he brings a healthy energy to the game
