Advantages: Very inexpensive album set. Disadvantages: You may already have some of the many tracks.
...This compilation consists of a ten, yes TEN CD boxed set, each CD having 20 tracks all original recordings. At a total cost of £19.95 in most high street record stores that works out at only £2.00 per CD which is pretty good value by my reconning. I actually bought it as I set a lot of quizzes and thought it would be good for music round setting which of couse it is but it actually good to play at parties etc, many of my friends remarking on the good quality and the variety of songs. There is a good range of artistes on the CDs from both sides of the Atlantic. there are many "classic" songs as well as some that you may have forgotten but are pleased to hear again after many years. 5. " Blue Monday "

Again a million sales released Dec 1956.
6. " The Fat Man "
A million sales released Feb 1950.
7. " So Long "
Released July 1956.
8. " I'm In Love Again "
A true happy love song, giving you a picture of a guy who's just realised he loves her and walking down a street singing this to himself.
The lyrics are all trying to get across how much he is in love, the sax in the solo adds real depth and tone to the song his piano tones are just hidden the occassional note rings out...

Advantages: Timeless REAL soul music Disadvantages: Only 10 tracks
...INTRO
----------
After 1980's rappers and The Smiths, James Brown is my other musical icon of choice. WHO IS HE?
-------------------
Even if you don't know any of his music directly, the chances are that you'll have been affected indirectly by his vast 45 year output. For a start, he invented what used to be called "soul", that genre that put feeling and vocal passion before lyrics and image. He was 8 years ahead of Motown...
