Angry Heart - Meantraitors

Advantages: Easy to listen to and great lyrics.

...This was the first Tori Amos album that I heard and bought. I thought it was so good, that I had to go and buy it for myself. It's a wonderful album, with a tremendous amount of feeling. The lyrics are wonderful, and the tune is incredible easy to sit back and listen to. Her voice as always is stunning. ME AND A GUN is the most powerful song on the album, since it is about rape. It makes heart goes straight out to anyone who's had to suffer such treatment, and it makes me feel v. angry. This is my favourite Tori album, and I would recommend it to anyone, it's brilliant.... Advantages: Theres lots of advantages if you like disadvantages - probably not worth buying.
Disadvantages: Bland, repetitive riffs on top of lyrics that could have been knocked together by a 4 year old with a dictionary.

...I'm listening to the album right now - Oh! that bit was good.. oh wait, it wasnt. If you have the first album, its probably not wise to buy this one - you'll be very disappointed, and possibly even angry. However, saying that - some of the tracks are good musically - 'What i can't describe', 'Doomsday' and 'I want it all' in particular, however - these are often ruined by poor lyrics and seemingly half-hearted, bland rapping - there's no energy like there was in the first album, it seems like they have focus on trying to create an album just as original as the first and although they've included several different genres there's nothing that kicks you in the face and makes you genuinely enjoy a song throughout.If i carry on writing about this album i will get very, very angry and frustrated - so, some words of advice; Spend your money... Advantages: Beautiful.
Disadvantages: Strange

...This is a good album and certainly worthy of it's Mercury award nomination. I bought this album on the strength of the singles Shiver and Yellow. Both have a soleful heartfelt quality that keeps you pushing up the volume and telling your parents to f***off. Listening to the album as a whole was an unusual expereience as I very much expected the usual indie style of meanderings most closely associated with Oasis or The Verve but I felt the lyrics were a little stranger and less generalised than the likes of Oasis as though a thay were taken from angry heartfelt love letters. Saying that this is still one for the indie kids and the Oasis, blur, verve lover and anyone else who has a heart.... Read review
