Advantages: A few good efforts. Disadvantages: Too long and too much filler
...The Pumpkin's fifth album marks a return to form in several respects. Ex-smackhead drummer Jimmy Chamberlain is back in the fold (although original bassist D'arcy Wretzky has been ditched in favour of Hole's Melissa Auf Der Maur, no doubt at Courtney Love's extreme displeasure), and the group have ditched the electro-influence that characterised their last album Adore for the much-favoured heavy rock riffage of Zeppelin and Sabbath. In terms of concept, however, this album is as hilariously overwrought as its predecessor's. Check out the titles: "I Of The Mourning", "Glass And The Ghost Children", "The Sacred And Profane". It lasts for over 70 minutes, and you feel every one of them. There is no room for restraint here; Billy Corgan is obviously surrounded by so many yes-men these days for that. If only it was a few tracks shorter...

Advantages: Strong record throughout, first My Ruin album with other permanent members Disadvantages: nothing at all, I promise!
...A Prayer Under Pressure Of Violent Anguish is rumoured to have gotten it's title by frontwoman and founder Tairrie B randomly choosing words from the bible.
Tairrie B, the woman that those in the music industry either love or hate, is back with the latest album and with two other band members rather than session musicians as used with My Ruin's 1st album (Tairrie had decided she alone would be responsible for how her career fared, and if it failed then it would be her responsibility - her ruin - alone).
Meet Mick Murphy - guitar god, and Meghan Mattox - bass badass who, together with Tairrie, make a truly outstanding album that became one of my firm favourites as soon as it hit my CD player.
The album begins with spoken word - something Tairrie has an apparent fondness of - entitled MORNING PRAYER. Speaking of a dream, that turned...

Advantages: Heavy, Has Meaning Behind Each Track, how they should have been from start Disadvantages: absolutely none towards this album
...is a track that had made me think quite hard about its meaning and i still was un able to find it out but this track has quite an immense guitar solo in it and i hope u will be able to dive into this track and find the meaning.
Land of Confusion is a cover of Genesis' "Land Of Confusion" from the CD "Invisible Touch" Disturbed have really taken this song and made it thier own and with Davids exellent vocals you can sense the anger in his mind about the background of this track.
Sacred Lie is oen of the heavy song on this album with good lyrics and vocals to go with it i particulally liked this track because i beleived it to be about how the war wasnt going to end for quite a while and with the lyrics " dont you know the war is far from over now" it kind of proves my point.
PAin Redefined sounds like someone who has been left suddenly...
