Another Level - Blackstreet

Advantages: Another Level has a number of excellent tracks, capably written and beautifully produced and sang. These tracks serve to get even the most timid of people moving their hips.
Disadvantages: Another Level has the odd track that makes the listener cinge and desperately reach for the "next track" button. These tracks irreconcivbley ruin the flow of the album

...regret that?.....Not sure really. Another Level is a fairly long album that simply doesnt have the flow and completness of its predessecor. It starts off in good breath with "no diggity" and and two back to back emotive ballads providing a nice early pace. But after beautiful "Never let you go" the album, sadly begins to lose its legs. Its from the first chords of the subsequent track that you realise that the "soup" is not ready. That fact is made ...
...extremely seperate cd. Really Another Level gives the impression that it is very aware of what it is trying to match or eminate in that it goes into a different direction, which is ok but gets lost, scared and looks for help in anything it can lay its hands on (which is not ok), most of which are not at all needed. So in large its not a disaster but definateley a step down from the Good Life of old. So do i regret not trying before buying?.......No ... Read review
