Advantages: packed full of hits, some lesser known, as well as a CD of new anthems in the making Disadvantages: Heard them all before? Possibly! But we still love them
new to trance, some may be, or if you are looking for a walk down memory lane and haven't bought one of these albums in a few years you may just enjoy what Dave has blended together. The albums saving grace is CD 3 which does have a more up-to-date selection of club tracks for your aural enjoyment.
So how does it breakdown? As i've said briefly, CD's 1 and 2 are made up of staple classic tracks from seminal trance artists such as Matt Darey, Chicane, Angelli & Nelson, Paul Van Dyk, Faithless, the list goes on! CD 3 brings us bang into 2009, or well more technically some of the tracks that were big towards the latter end of 2008. It would be unfair to judge this CD on the lack of real upfront 2009 tracks, having only been released 3 months into a new year.

Advantages: 100 tracks for just over a tenner - cant beat it Disadvantages: Only very few classics on here, a right mixture!
As the title suggests, when you think of the word classic you think of a piece of work of the highest standards or excellence. What possessed the person picking these tunes to call them classics or anthems is beyond me! This poor sod has had a task dropped on his desk by the good people at warner and probably cannot think of more than 30 'classics' so filled the disc up with some random stuff!
Regardless the price you can get 100 tracks and its definately worth it if you havent already got 99 of them! 5 dics, 20 tracks on each, good quality sound but a right mix of tracks. Its not like you have one disc 1990-1995 and another 2007 onwards, its a right free for all on here. I would go as far as saying some tracks arent even r&b! Tracks dates range from late 80s to summer 08 (when it was released).

There are a lot of 'Classic Trance' albums around at the moment, it seems to have become a trend in the last few years (as the trance scene has become very un-commercial).
At first I was very sceptical about CDs of this nature as I preferred instead to buy classic albums (such as the Annual 4, Trance Nation 4 etc...), but this CD really does break the mould.
This CD unlike all of the others around has 3 CD's packed with TOP tracks, rather than 20 - 25 great tracks and 15 - 35 filler tracks on all of the other classic albums.
I would definetely recommend this to any other trance fan. Especially fans of 98 - 02 (when IMO Trance was at its finest).
In conclusion - TOP CD - BUY IT NOW! ...
