This isn't just the finest Black Metal CD ever made, its one of the finest records ever made by anybody,..."Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk," an album of epic savagery! Not only beautiful, but bestial in it's wide ranging scope. Not only was "Anthems.." featured in almost every "album of the year poll" across the globe, but actually won the album of the year in both Terrorizer (UK) and Metal Maniacs (USA).
AL SVARTR (THE OATH) Quite an evil sounding intro
YE ENTRANCEMPERIUM, Very fast song, very well constructed, nice !!
THUS SPAKE THE NIGHTSPIRIT, My personal fav, starts off slow then into shear hell with evil sounding keybords...

Advantages: Everything really Disadvantages: Some people may have preferred it if the vocals were in the foreground as apposed to the background.
...singing, immensely heavy and melodic riffing, the beautiful keyboards and finally the great drums and insanely fast double bass drumming.
“Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk” is an incredible experience, fully exposing all the fine points of Black Metal. The instruments are all played superbly, and the poetic nature of the lyrics makes them very interesting to read, and try to understand. I would highly recommend this album to anyone who likes Black Metal, or anyone trying to get into this genre’s Underground scene and away from the trendy likes of Cradle of Filth.
Just remember, “Do not expect Cradle of Filth”!...

Their work was supposed to stop in 2001 with the last disc, the final effort of the three remained Norwegian guys Ihsahn (vocals, guitars, bass, synths), Samoth (guitars) and Trym (drums). After 10 years, a decade of imperial wrath, there meant to be the end of this band. Freely...
