...Magnum were formed in 1972 in Birmingham (always a hot-bed of metal talent) by singer Bob Catley and guitarist Tony Clarkin. Both initial members are still in the band which in itself is quite rare and in 1978 they signed a contract with Jet Records following a suggestion from Jeff Lynne (ELO) and run by Don Arden (Sharon Osbournes dad) which resulted in the release of their first long player - Kingdom of Madness. They never really hit the big time sadly despite touring with the likes of Judas Priest and Def Leppard.
In 1998 this compilation of their greatest hits(sic) was released by Castle Communications and contained songs which, as well as containg all the A and B sides of their singles, included many tracks selected by fans of the band showcasing their career from 1978 to 1983. Includes liner notes made by Jim Johnston. Professional wrestling as a form of entertainment has elements that no other sport captures whatsoever! Part soap opera, some parts macho posturing, battles of good and evil are played out for the indulgence of fans as the athletes are raised up to superstardom. Music has always played an important role in this pheomenon, as entrance themes make struts to the ring all the more dramatic and they even give you that tune which you just cannot get out of your head! Young Lust: Gathering 34 songs from Aerosmith's career
This was my second Aerosmith album which I purchased. As mentioned in my other review, I don't judge the songs as to if they live up to songs earlier in Aerosmith's career. I just judge the songs for as they are. I don't see any point complaining about what isn't on the CD but should have been. Take it for what it is, is what I say.
This Geffen Anthology of Aerosmith songs consists of 2 CDs in which tallies up 34 songs. One major problem is, if you have a collection of Aerosmith songs already, you are in danger of having duplicates...
