...Named after a character in Dickens's 'David Copperfield' Uriah Heep released their first album 'Very 'Eavy...Very 'Umble' in 1969 and displayed a very organ and guitar enfused form of rock with even acoustic and jazz elements thrown into the mix for good measure. There fourteenth album 'Abominog', released in 1982, was the follow-up to their previous showpiece 'Conquest' and only contained one surviving member of the band that recorded it. In fact, Mick Box (guitarist) even considered just ditching the Uriah Heep motive and starting afresh with a new group. However, he didn't, and 'Abominog' was a fairly successful album featuring a change of sound for the band. ...Demons and Wizards No, this isn't the title of a Role-Playing Game! This album and it's successor are the twin high points of the David Byron years. It was the first album to feature the rhythm section of Lee Kerslake and the late Gary Thain, generally reckoned to be definitive Heep lineup. Both the title and the Roger Dean cover match the fantasy theme of the lyrics. In this album you can find such higlights as 'Easy livin'(May be the most famouse Uriah Heep song in America).Beautiful 'Rainbow demon' and 'Traveller in time' with fantasy lirics. And trully musterpiece 'Paradise/The spell'-as for me the best Uriah Heep song and Best rock song ever.And don't forget about incredible 'The Wizard'.... Read review

...Demons and Wizards is the highest point of Uriah Heep,and as for me it is the best rock album forever.I only can compare it with their next album(Magicians Birthday).The opening ballad "The wizard" is one of the best Uriah Heep ballad,It is wonderfull, magic thing.Next song- beautifull "Traveler in time",one of their best hit"Easy livin'" ,powerfull and beautiful"Circle of hands"-one of my favourite song,fantastic "Rainbow Demon",Sympathetic "All my life".And majestic,wonderfull and whole fantastic "Paradise/The Spell".It is really masterpiece,Highest point of world music.I have no words to describe all this majesty and miracle....
