Aqua have matured (slightly) since the days of pink-haired Barbies and jumpy, childish basslines, as their second album was not quite so chaotic, but still extremely manic! :) A particular favorite on this album is a track called Halloween, and is all about a certain time of the year. Aqua's debut album, Aquarium, went straight to the top of the charts in most countries, but their follow-up, Aquarius, was not so succesful. Aqua have matured (slightly) since the days of pink-haired Barbies and jumpy, childish basslines, as their second album was not quite so chaotic, but still extremely manic! :) A particular favorite on this album is a track called Halloween, and is all about a certain time of the year. Anyway, if you haven't heard of aqua, I would advice you to stay away. But if you have been drawn into the wonderful wacky world of the insane, then look forward to their third album, which should be realesed early next year.
Aqua will also be touring to promote the album next year.

Im sure your screaming NOOOOO! but I admit it, I bought this one because they actually are a great band. No, they don't have huge statements about the poverty of the world or the status of the environment; "Barbie Girl" is probably the closest thing to a 'statement' they make, and believe me they got noticed for it. They simply create songs that have a lively beat and are fun to listen to. The kicky pop beats in songs such as "Lollipop", "Happy Boys ...

Advantages: You will have the tunes in your head all day. Disadvantages: You will have the tunes in your head all day.
I bought this album on the back of the huge hit singles Barbie girl, but especially Doctor Jones.
It is something about the light hearted nature of the tunes that sticks in your head, long after you have finished listening to it. I know they are seen as a cartoon band or a kids band because of the first single (Barbie Girl) and this is perhaps slightly justified.
There is no moral message in any of their songs except to have fun really. Their obvious ...
