When talking about the greatest albums, guitarists and overall icons jimi Hendrix pops up in all of them. jimi started playing guitar at the age of sixteen and prior to releasing this album (they're debut) he had already had a little taste of fame playing in the back up band for many famous artists including b.b king, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson and little Richard. Anyway moving on to how this album got made while playing with a backing band in Greenwich village he was spotted by ex animals member Chas chandler and was persuaded to move to England, when he arrived he held an open audition to find "the best two musicians England had" and they were Mitch Mitchell (drums) and noel Redding (bass) and the jimi Hendrix experience was complete.
1. Purple Haze (10/10) One of my favourite tracks on the album excellent beginning intro great, with a chorus which you will be singing along to in no time, excellent lyrics and good solo. 2. Manic Depression (8/10) Not one of my favourites on the album good little riff and another good solo though. 3. Hey Joe (9/10) Probably one of they're most famous songs they did, nice little intro and a very relaxing song and very blues like good lyrics also. 4. Love or Confusion (8/10) Another song that is very good and the guitar excellent on really making it scream on this one. 5. May This Be Love (9/10) Everyone’s knows Hendrix didn’t have the best voice but it’s actually sounds very soft and nice on this song a nice solo to. 6. I Don't Live Today (9/10) I really like the riff in this song it’s very catchy and a good chorus and as always the guitar excellent. 7. The Wind Cries Mary (9/10) Another very bluesy track here very soft and relaxing music good song nice blues solo to. 8. Fire (10/10) One of my favourites off this album great riff great lyrics and an awesome solo on this song one the best off this album. 9. Third Stone from the Sun (8/10) This starts off with a jazz type intro. This is another very bluesy riff, guitar once again excellent. 10. Foxey Lady (10/10) Another one of the favourites great riff awesome lyrics, and a wonderful memory that this song brings me is from the movie "Wayne’s world" when Garth plays this on the jukebox and tries to impress a girl, an excellent song and great solo to. 11. Are You Experienced? (10/10) another of my fav's off this album an great intro and as soon as the scratchy effect finishes and the guitar starts if give spine chilling effects, very good lyrics to from the title track off the album. 12. Stone Free (9/10) This song has very good chorus on this track great guitar once again especially on the chorus. 13.51st Anniversary (8/10) Another good song nice fast riff on this one and Hendrix’s voice is very good on this track and his voice suits this song. 14. Highway Chile (10/10) Awesome little intro really makes the guitar wail and repeats this little riff throughout the song amazing solo to. 15. Can You See Me (9/10) This is a really catchy song great guitar with great riffs and very good lyrics and songs with a higher paced tempo on this one. 16. Remember (8/10) not one of my favourites but still a good song and when listening to the song I can for some reason imagine this more as a "Jackson 5" song but good again once more and catchy. 17. Red House (9/10) Another amazing it of guitar work from jimmy very blues this song and a good end to the album.
overall album rating (10/10) this album is one of the greatest debut's of all time by one if not the greatest guitarists of all time, many of his best songs came off this album and considering it was released in 1967 this album would easily appeal to kids of this generation, cant recommended it enough and ask yourself this one question, "are you experienced" and if your not then go out and buy this record.

I disagree with champs' comments in some ways; more detail on each track would be an incentive - for example whats the rest of the band doing if there is one? Any solo tracks with just Hendrix playing? Lenny Kravitz needs more respect though - he's one of the finest musicians who's still around - though not making much impact im sure he's got more insight from Hendrix than a lot of people. A good review though but some more detail wouldnt go amiss. N
