Piano - Brad Mehldau Bass - Larry Grenadier Drums - Jorge Rossy
How can I put it - this album is one of Mehldau's best.
The band play every tune absolutely sensationally - with blinding energy and vigour. Every one of Brad's solos is totally and utterly flawless, taking you on a journey that twists and turns through every imaginable area. A particular highlight of the album is the track "All The Things You Are". As only Mehldau could do - he plays the tune in 7, up a semitone in A major! Also the Miles Davis tune Solar is played at a roaring tempo, providing a tapestry for a brilliant piano solo from Mehldau.
I defy any jazz lover not to be blown away by this album which really showcases this trio at their best.
