Advantages: Excellent powerful tracks Disadvantages: I see no disadvantages
...and Deep. (I have to admit that "Deep" is a perfect song to listen when driving)
As for the rest of the tracks from this album, I have nothing to say but this: pure judgement when this masterpiece was created.
Overall this is a work of art. (great guitar riffs; excellent lyrics and vocals, too)
Good value for money and I see almost no disadvantages in buying this record....

Advantages: Brilliantly constructed songs, beautiful melodies and awe inspiring guitar work. Disadvantages: The odd filler track.
...I first heard of him from someone on Myspace who constantly went on about how his album was amazing and he was such a great guitarist. I disregarded this and thought it was just another fad of hers until one day I checked on the music section and saw he was featured.
Out of curiosity I clicked onto his profile, and to be honest, I was a little dissapointed by what I heard. The first single released off the album - "Dream Catch Me", is sadly, probably one of the weakest on there. It does grow on you, but it definitely isn't the best.
On further listening, my interest suddenly peaked. The song; "I need something" caught my ear instantly. All of a sudden it was more than just your standard acoustic folk rock sound, it was a brilliantly constructed piece of art with bouncing guitar and superbly controlled vocals.
I instantly decided I...

Advantages: Interesting, good songs Disadvantages: not many of them
...Everclearonline.com consider this album to be a rarity and I would have to agree with them. I’ve only seen in on sale twice. It starts off with the fantastic Heroin Girl, if this doesn’t get you tapping some part of your body then there’s something wrong with you. Or maybe you just don’t like Everclear, but if that’s the case why are you reading this?
Next up is the instrumental track Pacific Wonderland which sounds a lot like Espionage by Green Day, it has the same movie soundtrack quality to it. Blonde’s is less impressive though, Art’s singing on the track sounds like his dinners in the oven and he’s feeling hungry.
Detroit gets things moving along properly again, distorted guitars bend around Art’s (Now back on form) voice. The guitar parts maintain their quality for 1975 but the vocals aren’t great again, if only in parts...

Advantages: One of the most hardcore Cannibal Corpse albums to date Disadvantages: Might put off new listeners due to vocal style.
...This is Cannibal Corpse's second album, and possibly most contreversial. For example the album was banned in Germany until 2006 due to the gorey cover art that includes zombies, disemboweled mother and hundreds of hanging fetuses
The guitar and general sound of the album is less heavy than that of later albums, due to drop tuning of the guitars later in their career. Howver the vocals are more uncomprehensible on thsi album, giving the album a more brutal feel. This album has been suggested to be one of the greatest Cannibal Corpse have done to date.
My personal favourite track is 'Rancid Amputation' . This song features really heavy riffs and an impressive guitar solo. This song was covered in a parody by an australian comic team. (viewable on www.youtube.com)...

Advantages: The Reinvention of the Frontman: Eddie Argos Disadvantages: Not Enough Brut!
...Now when it comes to Rock N Roll, Art Brut's debut is cranked up to 11, a 30something minute blast of wit and intelligence, screeching and howling through tracks like the title track 'Bang Bang Rock N Roll', the hilarious 'Formed A Band' (Featuring the lyric 'I want to write the song that makes Israel and Palestine get along '), and the heart-wrenching 'Emily Kane', an ode to frontman Eddie Argos' childhood sweetheart.
Eddie's vocals come through half spoken half sung, and as he states 'It's not irony, It's not rock n roll' but it sure works. With moments of punk rock stylings such as in '18,000 Lira' and 'Fight!', with the guitars racing and the drums pounding hard, like a headache on a rainy day.
The band, have style, and they definately have a future. Whereas this may not be in some people's taste, it is a gem that should...

Advantages: 13 fantastic tracks Disadvantages: none apeart from its very dark
...this album is nothing short of brilliant. The cover art is brilliant,
the lyrics are brilliant, the music is brilliant, the production is brilliant, the vocals are brilliant. Its not stadium rock like the first two, its sort of very moody punk. every song starts off with some speaking. the bass is well up the mix and the guitar effects are brilliant. The opener is called Yes and has a fantastic riff. Every track is a brilliant song musically and lyrically. I have never heard a better more complete album. This Is Yesturday is very beatles like but more sinister. 4st7lb a master piece. The lyrics mostly written by the guitar player who dissapeared could only be written by a man on the edge, it is a very dark album but I have to say the Manics got this one absolutly spot on....
