Thrice fold, hey. Thrice are one of those bands that have matured and developed over the years and especially with their this being their third album.

Their music style is emo hardcore (someone can correct me, but this is how i term it). They have a fusion with melody and heavy metal influences. So they have charming, lovable lyrics and then blast their vocal cords into the mic. They seem all nice to begin with, then unless their most powerful weapon. Their vocals, that is.

This album takes a few listens before it means anything, you have to take some time to fully understand and appreciate it as the amazing body of work it is. Thrice are easily one of the most original bands making, I have heard in a while.

Be warned some lyrics really make you go "oh, you can't sing that". Like in their song "Silhouette ", where they sing about killing all your friends and then you self. But you have to really listen to the lyrics to actually make sense. To be honest I still don't like that song, because of the way that they have stringed the lyrics together.

Frontman Dustin Kensrue's does not mince his words. His empowering words are emphasized by his confident and obviously well-trained vocals. This album is all about the lyrics, and most of what is presented here is of a positive and uplifting nature. Teppei Teranishi is fastly going to become one of the guitarists that music has to offer. He really gives Thrice their signature sound.

One of their better known songs "stare at the sun" seems to talk about having the answers to life. How he is waiting for a miracle. This song is sometimes played on MTV2.

They can produce some truly awesome guitar solos. These are really present in "Under A Killing Moon" although often short, I have to rewind the track to listen to it again.

You will like this style of music if you are into screamo, emo, hardcore or metal of some sort. This album as it all. I would recommend downloading some tracks first before buying their album as not every one will like this. This truly for the trained musician. Not that I am, I just like the style of music.

The overall presentation of the album is good. The inlay has all the lyrics to the songs. It is clean white. The front picture is looking at a building. A hospital (hence the title).
