Advantages: Haunting, passionate music to get lost in.
Disadvantages: It's classical and this puts people off before they even try it.

Advantages: So good songs
Disadvantages: There can't possibly be any!

...I brought top of the pops2000 vol.1 at the beginning of the year. I brought it through Jungle.com which made great value for money especially as it has 2 cds with about 20 songs on each. When i had listened to it i knew the next one would be great too. Then later in the year (not so long ago) i brought top of the pops2000 vol.2. This was also great value for money. I couldn't believe how recent the songs we're. I was very pleased. There was 2 cds again and about 20songs on each again. I can't wait for the next volumes, they will be great. I will be proberly getting them from Jungle.com like i did with the other two, because they are so good for value for money. I would recommend anybody collecting the albums because there is music for all different tastes of pop music. The cover looks great too and very professional in a cool way!!!!!... Read review

Advantages: Includes their most popular songs.
Disadvantages: Several weaker tracks and ommisions.

...This CD sits alongside Best Of... 2 to present pretty much definitive collection of Smiths tracks. Of the two, this is perhaps slightly the weaker, although it does include some of their most well-known and generally popular songs, such as This Charming Man and How Soon Is Now. These excellent tracks though are offset by the odd inclusion of some of their weaker material which lets the album down slightly. As a collection, you really need this (14 tracks) and it's companion as well, or it falls very short. Even across this and the other CD, there are some glaring ommisions, such as Barbarism Begins At Home, one of the Smiths' greatest songs. Despite this, this is a good CD with some of their best work on. The Singles CD is the main alternative, yet suffers the same problem only with ~20 tracks compared to the 28 offered... Read review
