...The 18 legged hate crew have yet to really appeal to me (except for a few songs) Until now. Their new album, entitled "Iowa" (where the band were formed) is sensational. Each track, just like the inlay of the cd, is a complete work of art. Corey's voice is amazing, combining guttoral shouts with mellow vocal skills. I recently saw Slipknot at Ozzfest, where they played some of their new stuff, off their then un-released "Iowa" I could tell instantly that this album was completely different. Unique in every way, Slipknot will continue to impress crowds and fans with their music, and their show. The upcomming single - Left Behind (recently played on Radio One) is this album's "Wait and Bleed" certainly a good track, with catchy lyrics. All in all this is a great album, with great artwork, from a great band. GO BUY THIS ALBUM!... Read review

Advantages: Load, Agressive, to the point music
Disadvantages: lacks depth/meaning.

...This is a fast flowing, no holds barred record. The whole record seems to be about, getting dumped by your girlfriend, hating your ex-girldfriend and killing your ex-girldfriend. Don't buy this record thinking you are going to get some lyrical or musical genius, but then i again i don't think the band really intended it to be a work of art. Even though the musicianship is a cut above your average band. If your into bands like funeral for a friend, taking back sunday and finch, you will probably enjoy this record, there are no subtletes to the music just a loud scremo record that abuses your eardrums for 44 minutes. Highlights of the album would have to be 'bite to break the skin' and 'rum is for drinking not burning' which are straight up singalong classics, with 'slowdance' being the lowlight as the slower songs just don't seem... Advantages: Classic Pink Floyd
Disadvantages: Some won't like it! You've been warned

...over the radio because of its dark nature, the importance of the music when the Berlin Wall came down... the album is generally a muddle of feeling, darkness and rebellion. Again, as classis Pink Floyd, some amazing art work in the film, most of this is animations by Gerald Scarfe. The Limted Edition CD includes a booklet full of selections of the art work from the film. I ave recently purchased a cd entitled the Wall, the film, quite different to the usual album, the cd is a soundtrack of the actual film and has a couple of tracks not on the original recording such as When the Tigers Broke Free and The Boy That Santa Claus Fogot. Truly both the album, artwork and album are timeless classics.... Read review
