2 Many DJ's have reinvented the mix CD full stop. Admirers of the dance mix need to reassess expectations of what is possible when you push play on your CD player. Over 45 tracks the boys genre-bounce seamlessly through a musical onslaught that's as detailed as it is danceable. Forget the monotonous bass line merges that you get from your annual Dave Pearce mix cd; here we have the Beatles bouncing off Dolly Parton between more familiar dance artists like Vitalic, Felix Da Housecat and Basement Jaxx.
Amongst the track into track mixing includes mashups of two or more songs playing simultaneously to create brilliance. Highlights include the 2 many DJ's favorite of The Stooges' 'No Fun' mixed with Salt n' Pepper's 'Push It'; the opening mash up of the Jaxx's 'Where's Your Head At' smashes your ears into something exciting, a dance that you have to sit and listen to so not to miss a second, it's that good.
It's really the musical sourcing that sets this CD apart from the rest. You're getting an exclusive playlist that you won't find on anything else in the stores. Who else would think to exercise the Funkacise Gang's 'Funkacise' for a vocal sample to Alan Braxe & Fred Falke's 'Intro'.
Replayablity really depends on how you find the stylistic inconsistency of the track list, there's such a wide range that the average human may find one or two that doesn't repeatedly blow their skirt up. However the flawless and original mixing and concise track length (each track rarely exceeds the three minute mark) will keep even the most schizophrenic entertained.
Highlights include the closing remix of 'I Sit On Acid', Adult's 'Hand To Phone', Interstellar, 'Concepts' and discovering the 'cameo' appearances of unheard-of artists that they have managed to shoehorn in. Rewind from the opening track to find a sexcret remix of Kylie's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.
Genius. To be played over and over.

Turntable duo (don't let the name fool you) 2 Many DJs are the kings of the eclectic barrier-shattering style of mixology known as the mash-up. On AS HEARD ON RADIO SOULWAX PT. 2, the duo piece together a dizzying set that combines Destiny's Child, the Stooges, the Breeders, Dolly Parton, and Salt "N' Peppa, among others, and leaves listeners scratching their heads as to how these guys thought to throw such disparate sounds together. Given its sheer diversity, it's hard to imagine any party people not being pleased at some point during this enjoyable set. The disc also includes 2 Many DJ's excelent Elektronic remix of the Kylie Minogue smash "Can't Get you Out of My Head."
