Advantages: Consistant quality Disadvantages: One weak track
..."Organix" was the debut album release from the Philadelphia Hip Hop band, The Roots. Released in 1993, the LP was the first recording from them since being formed in 1987 in their hometown, and having them toured much of Europe with their original take on Hip Hop. Clearly, if you are aware of early Hip Hop groups, then you would have to compare them with the first Hip Hop band, Stetsasonic, however, they failed to create as much hype as this legendary group has.
The Roots crew in this 1993 album consisted of the drummer, (?uestLove), the MC (Black Thought), the bassist (The Rubberband), keyboardist (Scott Storch) and other MCs (Malik B and Kid Crumbs). Others since then have come and gone, and it's important to point out that Black Thought and ?uestLove are the founders as former school mates, and went on to recruit others...

Advantages: Value for money, Must have Disadvantages: ...
...Undoing Ruin is definitely one of the band's best albums, my favorite... The music takes you on a rollercoaster. Really fast Progressive New Metal, with the most beautiful melodies(Fast and Slow) in between. The lyrics is filled with metaphors, and tends to be uplifting. If you're a guitarist, this album needs to be on your shelf. Really good musically.
You will appreciate it so much more if you see how they play these songs.
Related bands: Parkway Drive, All that Remains, Black Dahlia Murder...
Listen to when you're feeling down and need something to pick you up. This album is one of the few in my big collection, that does just that.
The band itself is also brilliant, so if you like this album, be sure to check out the other ones....

Advantages: Another album by the legendary Roots! Disadvantages: Not as unique sounding
...The Roots is the legendary hip hop group headed by ?uestlove a big fat drummer with a massive afro..drummer? yes..you see, the thing that separates The Roots from any other hip-hop group is that they are a live band. Instead of synthetic beats and sounds from the DJ, The Roots produce authentic sounds with authentic musical instruments. What you get is a fresh and amazing sound and atmosphere to the music that The Roots produce.
The Roots are best experienced live on stage but an album is the next best thing. The Tipping Point is the Roots' second mainstream album, the first being the critically acclaimed Phrenology. Before then, The Roots had been making albums that never hit big except within dedicated hip-hop circles. In my opinion, the earlier Roots albums were revolutionary and it's a shame that with Tipping Point, they have...
